@OVTune the next big vF patch, is that also in reference to the one for the Pro upgrade that you said to hold out for? Will the Pro upgrade still have that master tune pack included?

Interesting that you had an upshift there. I have never experienced an upshift to 5 at the stated conditions.

My finding is that the Acceleration shifting tables (2 of them - One possibly for D and one for S?) tables are for 4 Low range.
Upshift from 4th to 5th and from 5th to 6th and back are all maxed out at 255.999 which means the ECU is never allowed to shift into 5 or above.
If you change these to some logical values, comparable to 3rd to 4th, but a bit higher, you suddenly have 6 gears in 4Low.

have you experienced delayed upshift to 5th on incline after being kicked down to 4th (rpms in 3500 range and mushing pedal does nothing)? BTW, all these tunes have that due to maxing out the load in 5th with those throttle and TC settings.

Delayed upshift is subjective. I get caught in situations where the rpms in 4 are higher than required, but the rpms in 5 would be too low to make enough torque. The gearing gap between 4 and 5 is too big, but theres no fixing that. Probably can be masked by tuning the TC lockup but I haven’t gone down that road yet.

I would not want an upshift at the conditions you stated. 60mph in 4th is turning 2543 rpm, right about where I want the rpms at 30% pedal. Upshift to 5 would put me at 1754 rpm, too low to make any meaningful torque from this engine imo.

Thanks for the info from this thread finally got my truck updated and flashed. Coming From a brand new guy dealing with his first tune ever it’s a definite step up the food chain. Pretty shocked at how much smoother shifting is and less gear hunting. Get with g8r_taco if you are as unsure as I was and didn’t want a full investment it’s well worth it. Finally got a reliable guy in Florida, relatively close by if your in North FL.

Much appreciated for trying that out! My guess is that the two maps are D and ECT if it follows the same pattern as 2hi and 4hi. Could you try modifying only one of the two and run through the different modes to see which kick you out of overdrive?

Some food for thought, curious what you guys think about this. Did some monitoring between my taco and the bro's 3.6L in his grand cherokee. These two snapshots are within the same ballpark of RPM +/- 100. Load just about matches up perfectly, yet ignition timing is almost 10 degrees apart (the taco being the lower one, and it feels like it). And I'm on the premium juice too... I get that they're two completely different engines but still.. Am i making a case here or do I just sound off my rocker..

Whats the compression ratio on the jeep? I’m no expert but I would think that plays a role.

Its the 2018 which I believe has 11.3:1 so not far off from ours. Probably close to the same after our VVTi-W lowers our compression ratio at the low-mid load range..

I've been watching fuel trims lately just to see what it's doing. Short terms loom pretty good generally negative however. Long terms seem more negative than they should be around -5 on average. I may flash 2.0 and monitor that and see if there's any difference. Maybe try stock just to be curious.

Each manufacture has its own logic for calculating load.
    So it doesnt mean much.

Full throttle timing is the only timing worth. Comparing
