Raf is no longer with the company. The forums on VF's website is where we'll likely find tutorials in the future. I haven't seen previous tutorials available.

@Vlady Defiantly your Intake VVT is higher in the lower shot which IMO is why the timing is leaner...to much air. My question is what are the NO shit GO or NO GO spec's? I've been told the computer will try to keep changing thing to make the engine run at peak performance but what are the limits?

I've got an issue I'm trying to figure out and was hopeful someone has already come across it.

I'm trying to eliminate the Torque Converter lockup in 3rd and 4th (which I believe is slip lock in 3rd). Ive gone ahead and maxed out the values in 4th gear and that worked great.

I repeated that in 3rd and no change. Ive maxed out all my 3rd Gear lock Tables 1-7 and S1-S3 and I still see slip lock.

I monitor Lockup which remains at (0) or unlocked and Solenoid SLU (Slip Lock) which shows (1) during the event which tells me that the slip lock is still in play even though the tables are maxed for KPH.

I initially didn't touch the unlock values but in looking over the tables for 1st or 2nd gear or any other table that is maxed on lock from Toyota, they also max those tables on the unlock side. So, I went ahead and maxed out all the unlock tables as well, but I still see the slip lock in 3rd.

Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    John

@PapaRee @Mooseditty17 Great tunes fellas. I'm running 5.29s on 33's and have tried to adopt some of the features into my tunes. Happy to test some of your ideas if you can scale your tunes to the different gear ratio.

    Donation sent.

there are just two gear table adjustments you can make if you open up the file. just have to type in your 5.29 twice.

If it's that easy great, but was thinking that the shift tables (i.e. accel angle/kph) would also need to be changed.

p.s. this is a pretty cool Gearing Calculator

I used these to set max accel shift points so that my truck wouldn't go all the way to the rev limiter when WOT. Next step it to set other tables to make the accel*/kph shift points more linear

Example: Theoretical WOT and shifting at 6,500 RPM just before the rev limiter of 6,800
Stock (blue) to 5.29 (green) in KPH (top)/MPH (Bottom) on 32's.

I know its accurate to 115 mph in 4th gear. I did this plenty of times when troubleshooting the 80 mph limit for 5.29s until Mat fixed it - I could do 115 mph in 4th but when the truck shifted to 5th and 6th it would be governed to 80 mph.
    Shift to 6500 rpm.jpg
    Shift to 6500 rpm (mph).jpg

On premium, and have been for years. I’m not sure I need it anymore after the re-gear. My tune is great but mpgs suck. Going to 87 to see if I can save some cash.

Agreed. lol. Should have bought a Raptor? With all the $$ I've dumped into purchasing the truck and all the accessories this site makes me believe I need, I'm in CPO Raptor territory. :spending:

I’m on it now. Running around town and in the highway. Only 30 miles so far, but it feels pretty good. I only changed the two settings from 3.90 to 5.29.

At the moment no. Not unless you want to customize your own tune.

If you purchased the tune for the other truck it won’t work for new truck without a new license if he’s still offering that as an option. Or you could be vftuner for around 70-80. can’t remember how much he charged flash kit owners.

and flash your new truck with the Vftuner flash manager (Free to download). Your registration is good. It’s the same registration used for the OVtune software. Tied to your computer, not your truck.

One more benefit from not modding these airload tables.
I got my 4 to 5 upshift working.
I seems that the "smoothing" these 2 tables is effing up the calculations, which causing the spikes in rpms up to 3500 after the downshift and nothing can be done until rpms drop to 3000. But it takes ECU long 30 sec to recalculate and upshift.
Now if I downshift, rpms gradually go up to 3000 and stay there. If I modulate the accelerator I can shift to 5th on the spot
