    Thx is throttle sensitivity changes

all those changes are done in vf tuner. Install the software, open the tune file, start editing

I have an appointment to get my 2020 MT tuned in a few weeks. I'm having trouble deciding if I want the THX or not. Can anyone give me the pro's and con's of this? I'm not expecting my truck to perform like a racecar so I plan on sticking to regular octane fuel.

Any 2.0 tune is going to be better than stock. I haven't seen any super positive feedback on the Thx tune vs. Base.

Also, thx tunes are AT only. MT, just flash the regular or premium tune and be done.

I ran THX for a while. Flashed over to non-thx tunes and haven't turned back. Few minor things that thx did, you can find those by doing a search. Just have whoever is doing your tune increase your tip in with a non-thx tune. If they don't know what I'm talking about or they can't do it because they don't have your ECU unlocked to make the edit then I can send over the file (I'm a 2020 as well, B81).

For MT, if you're not on one of the FO maps, you're wrong.

New to this. Gone back about 20 pages and from what I understand I can buy the https://vftuner.com/products/vforest-tuner-software-flash-cable which is $380. And there is already a couple professionally made tunes from Matt on there I can use? With that I can flash my ECU? I’m just looking to get a better throttle response and to get rid of the gear searching.

Anyone else on here have a 2021 Taco? I’m wondering if anyone has tried M+W on a newer taco and had any success? The OVTune flash still lags a lot when I try to accelerate at speeds over 50... I pushing on the gas and it doesn’t do much and then push a bit more and all of a sudden it drops down two gears and takes off.

For $380 you get the software, cable and ability to edit tunes, it comes with stock files. For Mat's tunes, you would need to purchase the tune pack as well.
That said, there are quite a few user created files out there that are pretty good that you could download if you don't want to buy the tune pack.

Don't you also get 5 credits to unlock a specific ECU ID tune package? So if you are only tuning your own vehicle that one purchase should be all you need, correct?

If all you do is use VF Tuner to flash a tune you technically don't even need to consume any credits. But yes your statement is correct.

Correct, 4 credits unlocks the ECU. You would still need the 2.0 tune files for that ecu though which are in the tune pack (separate purchase from vf tuner). The files bundled with vF tuner are just the stock files.

People have also created and shared tunes on the forum but I’d use at your own risk.

Our software will soon be updating to a new version.
There will be several changes with this version, but all for good reason and to make it easier to use.
Registration based flashing will no longer be used.

There will be credit costs per VIN, and per ECU ID.
Each person will get more standard credits from the start, instead of 5.
Everyone with a master key right now will also be credited extra credits (for free) to cover their VIN crediting.
This upgrade will not cost you anything.
You will no longer have to request a registry key, and system IDs will no longer be necessary.
Your Master key will give immediate access to the software and ability to flash.

Additionally, new users can request their tune pack via the software as well.
There will be Tune pack credits. 1 tune pack = 1 credit.
When you order future tune packs, your master key will be credited and you can download the tune pack of your choice. No waiting, No emails, No spam folders.

This will *significantly* speed up things on our side, and there will no longer be wait times for credit processing (99.99% of the time - say day credit processing)

There is no additional costs involved.

okay for those of us currently with a Master Key and Tune pack all via the switch over from OVT Dongless -- if we only flash vehicles with the same ECU ID in addition to our own how many can I flash before there is an additional cost?

Depends. So I'll give some examples.

lets say you load the software and you have 9 credits.

You could flash 2 vehicles (costs 8 credits)
or you could unlock 2 ECU IDs (costs 8 credits)
or you could unlock 1 ECU ID and 1 VIN (8 credits)

the price of credits wont change either, you'll just get more per order (and people who previously ordered will be credited with additional to cover).

Pretty simple really. Credits to flash and credits to edit. Either is optional. Some people may buy vF Tuner only to make tunes and resell them, some people may buy vF Tuner only to flash tunes and never edit them.

Kind of like ecutek flash points. you buy points (in this case, credits) and you can use them for whatever

And we can use these same credits to get tune packs? Or is that a different credit?

    different credit.

the whole process will be explained in crystal clear new instructions.

no more emailing needed. When you order, you get your master key, and if you ordered a tune pack your key will be setup with tune pack credits at the time of creation, you register your software and everything else is done right from the software.

    no more emails!
