Sorry, I should've been clearer. It pulls that info up when I hit prepare ecu, then a few seconds later it comes up with the timeout error. I can select a calibration file, but the button to load it to the truck isn't highlighted for me to continue.

Connection may be poor and so it may be preventing flash to prevent brick

What's the speed readout? Should be in ms

I may be in same boat this morning. I posted on the VFtuner forum too.

    1.2.9.9.8 issue
I hooked up to the truck this morning for the first time. I have the program licensed. I have verified 04b04. I am trying to.
    1. Prepare ECU
    2. Read ECU (get the error unable to prepare ECU Read. ECU is not read capable. Check folder for stock ECU. I selected the stock file then hit read ECU again and nothing happens....and the calibrate ECM is dimmed.

I didn't have any prompts asking for VIN license credits. I am assuming this is the issue?

    Any help I appreciate it.

I am also getting a connection timeout error after clicking on the select calibration file prompt too.

I just read a part in the manual on the VF Tuner website, page 27 or so if I remember correctly. It has a section on if you're having a hard time reading the ECU.

Interesting. I just flashed a 04A61 truck yesterday with 1.2.9.9.8 and had no issues identifying, registering, and flashing

You may need some sort of electric or fuel gen backup and a hefty UPS as the reliance on internet connectivity for your software grows. Including on the incoming IP line for your own internet, to ensure that outages are essentially due to failures outside of your workspace

I haven't installed 1.2.9.9.8 yet, but when I installed 1.2.9.9.7 the installer said it was 1.2.9.9.6, IIRC. After it finished the proper version was installed though, 1.2.9.9.7. Wouldn't surprise me if 1.2.9.9.8 did the same.

That was just a text error in the Flash Tool. It says 1.2.9.9.8 all around now. The Flash Tool version was updated last time or the time before also.

He was there prior to the on site server. It was problematic also as I recall.

Ok I am usually pretty good with computers but I must be bad at reading. I finally got my VIN licensed. Now I cant get it to read my ECM still. I get the error in the screenshot. I was able to do like you stated above.
    1) Prepare ECU
    2) Select Calibration
    3) Then I Calibrated ECM followed by read ECU and still get the error.

    Should I
    1) Prepare ECU
    2) Select Calibration
    3) then READ ECU?

    Please help. Thanks
