Is that a test procedure only, or do you think every electronic module in the truck is okay for 14.8 V steady state operation forever?

The sensors and electronics are fine at that voltage. The ECU actually has tables that scale all the way to 16 volts

A person that I trust likes to say that consumer electronics are good at +/-10%. Automotive systems work through quite a wide range beyond that when you look at the fluctuation through the R/Rs.

That holds true for most industrial devices too. There are exceptions, obviously. Most computers are "universal" switching supplies that can use anything from around 90VAC to 250VAC. It's always a good day when you look at the label on a component and see something like "9-120 Volts AC/DC". Just give it whatever juice you have and she'll be good.

Do I have to reset the transmission and learning values every time I flash a different tune?

    You don't have to.

I do because I like the clean slate. That's just me though.

Does that do anything for the MT?

If you're just making changes for voltage, best not to reset anything. It will drive just like prior, but with the altered voltage settings.

For me, it made a big change the first time. Several issues were fixed. Since, I just do it to get a clean slate. It makes me feel like I am comparing apples to apples.

Like I said, that is just me though.

Just to be clear, you have a manual truck? What issues were solved?

Did a 500 mile journey today with the new alternator settings. Performed as I thought it would drove at almost all speeds and rpms, Off roaded a bit, hill climbs etc. Volt mater ran about 14.6 most of the time with RPM's below 1500. Only over that did it hit 14.7 but never went higher at any speed. With the truck off I get a standing charge of 13 volts. Only thing I noticed was the MPG went up. I usually get 18-19 MPG on a road trip like that but this one it was 21MPG. I know people who have done the big 3/4 upgrade in AWG wire size and have reported increase MPG and overall power. Can't say I feel more power. Just my two cents. Don't feel the need to revert back from the tune adjustment.

I sent in my dongle and got the p5f key and vF tune reg file. I'm wondering if I need to request my tune pack or that will eventually be sent to me. My ecu is 04b04

I think somewhere in here that was asked, and Mat said it wouldn’t hurt to start a new zen desk request.

You will need to send a request for your tune pack so he knows what tune pack to send you.

Must be nice. I sent in my dongle and got my P5F key. Still waiting on the vF reg file. And have opened a ticket on the order, and asked here a few times. Still waiting. I don't know how long it's supposed to take for the vF reg file, I just want to know if I got lost by accident or something else.

Just so I'm clear, I can't buy just one tune? (only one I want is "91 octane, 2018 truck with the good transmission")

I bought the Tactrix cable already. I think I need only that single tune file and software to flash it with. If I have to buy the vFtuner software and the "tune pack" my outlay will be C$1079.

Someone else who already has that tune you want could just give you the tune I suppose, or sell it to you, without you buying the tune pack.

However, you would need to choose a little bit more specifically which tune you want. After all, there's more than one Prem fuel tune, and with octane learning being enabled, you could even run a regular octane map with premium fuel
