I think his point is that if he wanted to test any of the configurations that are normally provided in a tune pack he would have to find someone to provide him those piecemeal or someone willing to share them wholesale. The obvious preference would be to just have access to any/all of the tunes provided in the pack.

Or, if he had a buddy that had a different ECU he could just cough up $75 for extra credits and have access to that set of tunes for sure instead of having to then try and find someone with the tunes for that particular ECU which could be a indeterminate waiting game.

Is that a documented process that you can point us to?

No need, it's the same process you would follow when flashing a .vft

Is the bluetooth scanner just left plugged in at all times unless you need the obd2 port?
Any tips or trick for using this software?

You can leave it in constantly. It does do a little bit of power draw so if you don't drive it for like a week I would pull it just to be safe. I purchased the Toyota PID stuff and havent found it to be super useful yet so I would hold off on it until you know you need it.

Yes. I got a BT LE connector so I can be lazy and leave it plugged in. It draws minimal power when not in use. Anytime I flash, I just take it out real quick.

There's an OBD Fusion Tips and Tricks thread. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/obd-fusion-tips-and-tricks.590248/

I bought the add-on that has all the 2018 Toyota PIDs, which is cool but I really just wanted the shift status. For whatever reason, that one is locked in the add-on.

It's fairly easy to use, just takes time to set up a dashboard to your liking. But there's plenty of ideas in that thread, and I can help you out with what I've made for my needs if you'd like.

It's called something weird. A/T Oil Temperature #1, I believe.

Yeah it's annoying. The PID pack has it. Status of the shift status (yes, redundant) is its name.

Thanks fellas. I had to buy the Toyota pack and then was able to find the correct tables. I don't suppose anybody has figured out the half lock PID? Lock / Unlock, I found.

That's what did it for me with TS. But I'm only getting a 1 when I believe to be in full lock. I would have suspected a .5 for half lock. Doesn't seem to be the case.
