@uploadadventure, I realized my tune file name may be confusing (04B81_MD.87_Mild+Wild...) so I reuploaded it with a more appropriate name. Mind fixing the link in the first post?

Also, while the Mild+Wild tune is awesome, it was staying in gear longer than I liked. Getting up to speed was excellent, but once I made it to the speed I intended, it wouldn't upshift to help with gas. Getting ~14 MPGs now.
I'm testing out a new tune, just got back from a short test drive. If all is well, I may post it to this thread here.

@Mooseditty17, are all of your tunes in your signature? Just curious what you've played with. Unfortunately, I'm still waiting on my credits to go to my account before I can really dig in and see what you've done.

Most of them are yes. The first couple I removed from the signature. They were the really early stage tunes that don't hold a candle to these ones now.

Anyone interested in making a tune for 04B33? I just updated the ECU from 04B30 and 33 feels a lot better with the stock tune/whatever option Mat gives when you register the ECU with vFtuner. I don't know when the tune pack is going to be released by Mat (if at all for free, or if it'll cost $300) and I'm trying to make sense of creating my own tune but don't have much time to do so.

I'm running 33s, 4.88 gears, and Premium fuel. I had OVtune and liked the performance 2.0 or 1.05.1 (can't remember) response and power. But I can't find those maps I had for 04B30 and can't figure out how to load the 04B30 files to vFtuner. Also the fact that I updated from 04B30 to 04B33 so I probably can't even use those now.

Willing to toss some money into it to get the truck performing how I'd like it to.

I mean, anyone could update the stock map if they unlock it, but without a tune pack we really don't have much to work with.

Although, seeing as how 04B33 is on the same T-SB, there's a chance the tune will be very similar to my 04B81 (I'm 100% assuming of course).

So the "tune pack" is all the OVtune (.p5f) files that were available on the OV site that had different tire sizes, gear ratios, gas grades, and THX option? And the tune packs are being released by Mat for $300 regardless if you paid for the original OVtune and had access to the .p5f files? Just trying to figure this all out. I've looked into the excel cheat sheet that was posted on editing certain values to modify tunes and it doesn't show anything about how to tune for premium fuel. And I what I get from the forums is that you should probably start with a premium map if you're going that route.

The .p5f files are not able to be edited. The files you get from a tune pack (.vft) can be edited. Yes, they're basically the same though, you'll just have the ability to edit them.

For me, when I make a premium tune, I start with a premium tune map. I haven't even considered comparing regular to premium because I haven't really had a need to do so.

I'm not sure how it works for someone who upgraded from the original OVTune. I didn't purchase until a few months ago.

B33 isn’t available yet for VF. Mat is still working on it.

I checked, the stock tune from Toyota is in the install directory of VFTune, but unless anyone knows how to convert it to an actual tune...

    This is good to know.
I’d like to update my ECU. But I need to make sure I can flash cause I’m running 5.29 + 35’s

Looks like it was created October 15th. Probably came with 1.2.7.0 if I had to guess.

The new update to VF has the stock 04B33 tune file but no tune pack with all the customized options (gear ratio, tire size, premium fuel, etc).

And Mat said that the tunes are all octane learning now? I’ve been running premium tunes/gas ever since OV1.05. So just running Premium should boost the power a bit?

They are all octane learning now, yes. If your running premium, I would run the premium file to get the most gains.

I think others have said the 04B33 isn’t available just yet. I’ve got an email sent to the help desk but no response yet.

Once it's available they will send it out to you as long as you put your order number and ecu id in the email.

You will need new tunes for your new ECU ID.

You will need to buy credits to unlock your new ecu id, and then you will have access to the stock vft file.
