I don't know what your secret sauce is, but I've NEVER been able to brush the throttle and get a consistent blip response. This goes all the way back to the Ginger and every tune file I ever flashed either truck with. Sometimes it's great, other times the engine just won't bother. Even 'hatch's file wouldn't do what I wanted in that regard. I suspect the answer is at least partially in the PTTT map. I'm not willing to fuck up other driveability aspects chasing it too far though. Engine braking and smooth acceleration for example.

    Yes I know.

..and then I altered them for a specific purpose.

On the engine braking, I am fairly certain that we have that nailed down to the starting, negative PTTT values? Say, -5 or less?

Can we make that an agreed 'rule,' or are there still outliers?

i understand. over & over i come back to the speculation that my open exhaust let's it breathe forward without backpressure restriction. low tq at low rpm this little motor. it's subjective but makes sense and everything i experiment & play with seems to validate. i mean, i barely brush the throttle to rev match, super easy, totally consistent.

truck goes into the shop next week for a front end tweak, solid motor mounts, and ATM I'm planning on hooking up the OV catted dumps finally. should be another step in [hopefully] validating that again.

and no I'm not ever sitting back here saying you guys should go open exhaust... not for everyone, i get it.

That was my experience with the unedited 04B14 SFOB Prem on 92, except it was probably only 85% consistent?

Now, I'm getting into it deeper, but it is 98% or better?

i guess that's a little hard to say. what i experience, as far as i can see, is that my truck is setup with a pretty narrow window for spot-on functioning, and it's my game to get it right everytime. so, if i miss a blip, or get dogged going into second for example, that's because i didn't get it right with my use of the throttle. i would be the inconsistent one, not the truck, motor, or tune.

The sensitivity went away when I removed your PTTG1 map and when I changed PTT column 1 from -5 to -7.5 (simultaneously)

Just personal preference on my end. I don't want to have that "free wheeling" feel when I lift. The stock engine braking is weak as it is lol.
I have a lot more experimenting to do on the PTTT map. I'm not in the "make a whole column the same value" camp just yet, I may start small with additional duplicated values in specific areas, but retain the two axis taper. We'll see. Honestly right now my only bitch is the blip response for daily driving.

Oh yeah. The problem is that most times, a goof up is definitely me. I am not the most motor-controlled person, but my muscle memory has done me a lot of favors. There are those times when I know that something on the Taco side was off. Defo with Stock! Each OV iteration and edit (that I keep!) gets better.

Oh yeah. I felt that free wheeling with the '0' starting value. The other ALC issues just overshadowed it. LoL!

Just so everyone is aware, V4 is not "my" map. I took Tony's Airload V3 maps and altered just the two control maps for my specific purposes. I made it clear in earlier posts what I did and where the originals came from, but that info might get past someone who hasn't kept up lol.

Any chance you might post the excel for V4? Or am I best off modifying the table with the instructions on post 1 (ALC)?

    @MOC221_ is the V4 guru. :D

For now, the best bet is to follow his instructions. You should get identical values.

Not sure it's what you are looking for, but I have been happiest with this PTTT so far. I'm still playing/hacking like everyone else, but I keep coming back to this PTTT.

The data values are here if you wanted to see the details.
