    Canada Eh!
Will do tomorrow. Was just taking advantage of a slow nightshift to get the program setup and what not. None of OV's tunes were included in the program download, but thankfully stock is. I wanted to run stock for a bit while I make some tweaks and smoothing to 2.0. Curious to see how "horrible" stock will feel haha.

If anyone has the available VF tunes for 04B90, please send them to me! Would rather not have to bug Mat for them.

First I would verify knock, if it's over 5000rpm you could also pull timing at that point. Few other ways you could modify your map to stop the knock

Your existing REG file will work with the vF Flash Tool. It should already have full access. If not, just reinstall it.

If your reg file works then you will have access to the flash button in flash manager. If it doesn't work then all the buttons will be grey and you can't click them

Mine also gets noisier in that range. I've questioned knock before.

You can go into vf and retard the ignition timing in those ranges by a couple degrees to see if that lessens it.

I've been slowly going through valve advance and thought about ignition advance as well.

The only problem is without a dyno you have a hard time telling if you are neutering the power too much.

Btw, one of the only real differences i found between premium and reg files are ignition advance and knock correction (which makes sense)

Sorry! I meant to add this to the 1st Post and forgot.

It looks like your map data contains all the changes, so it wouldn't make sense to toss it in the other 3D / 4D threads? Do you agree?

Also, it might be a good thing to start a valve angle thread to get a feel of what's going on there?

map data does contain all the changes, i took it from how your files were and decided it was best to put them all in one.

im still running the 04b04/04b14 air load tables though, i looked at the other iterations and didnt see the significance of changing values under the normal driving rpm range.

as for valves go, im still playing, ive actually advanced them more in the low rpm range. the more i advance them, the less of that stumble when going from cruising to full throttle.

i have not done much with the high load areas yet, except knocking that peak off at 3k rpm (retarded timing slightly) not sure that did anything perceivable though.

No worries. It is good to have everything in one file.

Also in the 1st Post, I have the map edits in the order that they are shown in vF. Can you let me know where the valve map fits in? I don't have my tuning computer with me.

    Thanks!

:fingerscrossed: hopefully it is negative. Not good stuff happening here also. I'm looking forward to the vaccine. Tonight starts Zoom hell again for my girls again.

    Have fun with the tuning.

we dont think it is covid. this is the second time this year she has been tested. i work with some older gentlemen and do not wish to be the guy that brings it to them so im taking the safety first mentality with it

That's good to hear. I don't like what is being said about the long term effects and am hoping to get to the end, soon.

    Ouch. Good luck!

Well, happy day for me. I come home on my split to find that Mat has released support for my truck. You better believe I wasted no time re-reading a few threads and modifying the stock file with most of the changes you all have made, albeit hesitantly. Terrified of screwing up the truck, I flashed anyway and went for a bit of a drive and I must say that even easing out the clutch to get out of the parking stall as I always do I noticed quite the difference. Acceleration was far more 'normal' to me: predictable and linear (as you have designed) and made shifting so much easier, even with the accumulator still in tact. I was only out about 30 minutes and I figure maybe 25 km total but when I don't have to head back to work I'll drive it more and see how she settles.

I can only imagine these edits and then some on top of one of Mat's 2,0 tunes. I'm already quite pleased and I'm not done yet :D
But until we know more, I don't think I'll do too much

Thanks for all your hard work so far and I hope to be able to contribute and test going forward

It is surprising that folks are finding differences that noticeable on edited Stock tunes.

    Very cool!

Believe me, a few of those tables changed drastically considering how small changes can have large impacts. The stock setup on the acceleration is whacky. I get that linear wasn't their intention but neither was a parabola unless it was that poorly executed. The 3D maps I looked at I'm still trying to wrap my head around their logic (and the logic in general).

It really is just the acceleration that I noticed, and shifting because that's part of it as far as I'm concerned (and unlike the AT we have control over that). I haven't pushed the truck hard or anything so I don't know if changing the limits did much, if anything. Idling is a bit different and I have not touched that yet, only what I understand so far

    Good stuff!

I am looking forward to more detailed explanations of the maps and their relationships to each other in the future.

I keep asking questions in the main thread but never get a response for any of them.

I'm about to try the Zen desk method and see where that goes

I feel my questions were easy enough to answer in a sentence or two

With all the AT chatter in the main thread, it is hard to break through the noise. I think with the TT kits shipping out and AT Final, OVT is bogged down? My hope is that things break free after that.

It was said that we would see some MT goodie in a future version.

One thing though, some of OVT's posts lately sound different? I think there might be a newbie helping him out?

    Maybe

I just want to know what low and high mean on acis (I'm thinking load)

Why ignition timing is following the knock maps (low and high) does that mean it's doing knock correction? If so then sounds like our ignition timing is off from the get go

And a bit about the cam advance.

Like what the 0 point is. Information says that the intake can open from 47 btdc to 33 after tdc.

The map we have access to advances all the way to 69 but the intake Valve limit is set to 60 across the board. Confusing....

I'm only chasing these things in attempts to stop the irregularities, stumble, stutter, rubber bands.

Note i have not tried my new file against the rubber band stumble yet but it did seem to eliminate surges
