What headaches. I'm staring at the tables: their names, numerical values, axis labels, trends and contemplating possible relationships and I have no idea. I'm basically at that point where I want to start smoothing/boosting/etc of anything related to accelerator, acceleration, torque, throttle, airloads...i'm even eyeballing those MAF Multipliers because I have a feeling they have quite the effect, and not just because they have acceleration and throttle in their table names.

I guess I'll just have to see what information I can gather here and make a change somewhere, note it, then flash and drive it. You guys have already done so much yet it also seems like so little. I don't mean to offend; I more mean this can of worms is a lot larger than thought

Yup. I think people underestimated the can of fuckery in the ecu. Things have come a long way in the 3 years I’ve been on this tuning journey and I’m sure there’s more yet to come

Does anyone have a 04B40 version of this work? or just start with base and work from there?

    Thanks

If you have 2.0 you can make any of these adjustments with vf by copy and paste from the excel sheets

Still jumping into my VFTuner shoes... Sorry still trying to process the 452 thread. I purchased the base VF Tuner which came with the stock tunes. Near as I can tell my ECU is 04B41 but when I try to read it it tells me wrong ECU selected. Any reason why this would occur?

Why are you trying to read it?

Edit: looks like there is already an older tune flashed, which is read locked which will cause the reads to fail.

I thooought I had to read it for the maps to be editable. For some reason I thought the map editing is a real time function to work. Still learning!

I've been running your tweaks for just over a week. Nice job. I think I'll use your tune for the winter, since I'll have less trouble
taking off in slippery conditions, unless Mat drops the update with additional tables before Spring.

I've updated it slightly, played in a bit of snow yesterday and it was very controllable. Very smooth.

The biggest difference was putting the intake valves and acis back to stock values

I'm done tweaking until the big update comes out and will update all my changes and post them.

    Hello,
I have been following this thread for some time, but new to OVtune
I have noticed a new tweak, the Cylinder Head - Base Intake Valve Angle
what does this do exactly and how does it effect overall performance?

    I've played with it.

What I've noticed, advancing the valves in the lower load range makes throttle response/power down low seem slightly better, at the cost of mpgs.

I ran one with 25 in the low range and 40 in the mid range and didn't touch the high range.

Felt good, other than one heavy studder during my first pull. But i lost 2mpgs, i changed it back.

    Hello,
I have got my ovtune set up and running. I went to flash a regular FOB file. It went fine, but after I verified that the truck would start, I turned it off and cleared learned values. I then got a check engine light, the triangle with ! in the middle sign, and brake override malfunction. The truck would start fine. I then flashed to a regular file with a few tweaks recommended on post 1 and have no issues.

Why would I get those warnings when I cleared the learned values?

A bunch of warnings pop up when flashing or with ignition on with the motor off. I wouldn’t worry about anything that pops up unless it does it when the motor is running

Just made the upgrade to 265/75 tires. I doubt it works this way, but will changing the tire size in vf tuner correct my speedo/odo? Its only off by like 3-4% compared to stock, so its actually probably dead on now.

There shouldn’t be any warnings after turning the truck off.

If you modified a file and are getting a CEL, flash to a known good file and see if it persists. If it only happens with a specific file, double check your edits
