Yes, unedited OVTune tune packs are still commonly flashed tunes

What are the hp and torque gains for the 2.0 high octane tune? I know the new tune has a rev limit of 7250rpm but have no idea of the power increase compared to the 1.5 tune.

1st gen - it's got a built engine, a turbo, and waaaaaaay too much to list. 3rd gen - basic-bitch lift, S/C, Pro Wheels
I've got a 19 TRD OR 6MT that I've recently installed the Magnuson supercharger on. The limitation in first gear really doesn't do the supercharger any favors(not saying I still don't love, I just know it's got more in it in first...but you know, throttle limit and all). Has anyone unlocked the Magnuson tune just so you can change the throttle limitations by gear? I don't want to change the tune, it runs great, just want full-throttle capabilities when needed. 1st gear is kind of a bummer when you're getting on it and really want it to take off and it doesn't feel like you get full boost until 2nd gear. (no verification on that statement since I don't have a boost gauge, but the butt dyno def can tell a difference between 1st and 2nd gears.)

If anyone from Magnuson sees this post, I don't want to reverse engineer or have no intentions of stealing/selling your tune, I just want full use of 1st gear while still having the tune that you created for fueling...nothing more.

I've skimmed through almost all of this thread and didn't see this question, if I've missed it somehow please point me in the right direction! I'd love to just go with one of the tried and true tunes that people have commented on and shared everywhere, but having the Magnuson really puts a damper on that.

Have you emailed them and asked for a tune where they can remove first gear throttle limiter?
I told another fella to reach out to them when he was concerned the tune didnt accommodate his regearing -- they made the adjustment no problem.

You cannot unlock a locked tune. Beyond that, it violates the vF terms of service.

You either have to ask Maggy to make the change for you or develop your own tune. A s/c tuning guide is supposed to be published on the next vF version.

kinda funny that it violates the terms of service, kinda like someone cracking Toyota's ECU code so we can flash aftermarket tunes... lmao

But yeah, I'll shoot Magnuson an email and see how she goes.

lol, no worries man. It was just a question, not looking to get anyone in trouble or cause any ruckus.

Not a problem. Just that vF threads have been getting nuked.

Hopefully you get the full fun pedal soon.

Got word back from Magnuson, kind of a bummer. (see attached) It doesn't feel much different as far as throttle limitation is concerned. Here's to hoping someone may develop a tune for the S/C that allows full-throttle usage and still has safe tuning for the fuel/timing/whatever else maps...

I hate asking a question that at least justifies a short paragraph and gets a weaksauce one-liner in return.

Yeah, the only other email he sent was asking for my VIN... I'm not trying to bash the guy or Magnuson, but saying there is nothing else you can do is just a fib. You either will or you won't, not can't. They obviously changed it a lil bit considering what he said in his response. He could have at least explained why they didn't give you full throttle control in first. (albeit I can assume why...) I'll just keep my fingers crossed for tunes for those of us with the blower.

Edit: My assumption they won't give you full throttle out the gate is probably related to the limitations of the stock clutch. But I'd be happy to upgrade my clutch if it meant I got alllllll that first gear has to offer.

Exactly, and maybe provided a screenshot of the map. It's not like there any IP in a torque limit.

The tunes are definitely coming. I believe it as said that two dyno shops are working on s/c tunes.

Vf’s FI guide is extremely helpful. Pretty awesome he put it together, and it’s broken down into terms and maps that aren’t that hard to understand. I am currently reading 3 books on EFI tuning, still somewhat lost but with the help of a shop/dyno tech and Matt’s guide might be able to get somewhere!
