Did the 5100 lift on middle perch with a 1” block in the back. Now when stopping I get a slight vibe from 2000-1500 rpms. Do I need a shim for the rear or is this the ECGS bearing. In my searches I can’t find a definitive answer.

    thanks

Gonna be trial and error. No clear cut way to diagnose driveline vibes. Could be a needle bearing, could be carrier bearing, may need a diff drop, may need a shim.

Mine did the same after a similar lift. It threw off the driveline angle just enough to cause vibrations. Just the weight of my Diamondback bed cover was enough to make it completely go away. Throw an 80# bag of sakrete in the bed and see if it fixes it. If it does, it’s the driveline angle. You could correct it with a shim. There’s a huge thread here somewhere about measuring and correcting driveline angles.

If you put it in 4WD and vibe goes away, replace your bearing with ECGS one

Wouldn't that be the other way around? Like if it was the needle bearing shouldn't the vibe go away in 2wd since the front diff wouldn't be engaged any longer? I could be completely off base here.

You'd think so. But with that front diff engaged the vibe will go away (if it's the needle bearing) not exactly sure why but It's a pretty known problem on our trucks when it's lifted. That's the first thing I'd check. Flip that bad larry in 4hi and see if the vibration goes away or not
