For trouble shooting, remove your rear shaft and drive around in 4x4. If this gets rid of the vibes, the problem is the rear shaft.

FYI shimming the rear axle is worthless without a CV Driveshaft.

I got rid of my vibes last week that I had been hunting down for 8 months. Shims and CV Driveshaft is what finally did it.

I already had a one piece shaft, so I just had it modified by a local driveshaft specialist. They used American made Dana parts.

Alot of folks on the forum have had success with Tom Woods shafts. Even though they use Chinese parts, I think they carry a pretty good warranty.

Try removing your driveshaft first. If you do and the noise is still there, then you've just saved yourself the price of a new one.

You said your vibes got worse after the TC UCA Install. I know this is pretty basic, but did you grease up the urethane bushings on the TC UCAs really good? They should be greased up pretty good. Might want to try hitting the zerks on them and make sure they're lubed up good.

i know how frustruating hunting down a vibe can be. in my younger years i had a 90 5.0 Mustang. i made a gear swap to 3.55's and poof....instant terrible driveline vibes from 15mph on up. i did everything i could, except change the stock driveshaft. but i did have it balanced with no change. spent about $1200 on different things trying to chase it out. i finally gave up and sold it. i bought a new 93 5.0, made the same gear swap and again had terrible vibes. but this time, on the advice from some gearheads from the local Dragstrip, i bought a FMPP Aluminum HD driveshaft and poof, they disappeared like magic. smooth as glass. made me smile for a month!!!:D

i would love to lift mine, but for the very reason and troubles you are having, it just makes me want to leave mine alone and drive it

Well, I have been the Guinea Pig on my truck. I have literally gone from OME 885 / 9000, Billys @ 0/ Eibach, to stock SHIT! I even put the stock UCAs back on. I still have vibrations...... I have tried all kinds of combos and had no results. I have now confirmed that my lift was not the problem. It has to be something up front. The original dealership said there was no fix.... Getting ready to drop it off at another dealership this afternoon. Results will follow.......

The dealership removed the DS and said the vibes went away. They have scheduled me for the Driveline Vibration TSB repair. I understand that it replaces the tranny mount. Does this alter the DS angles?

Sub'd. I have more vibes than a lesbian at almost any speed (70mph or below) unless I'm really flooring it, and then natural centrifugal force reduces it. I just installed an OME kit on Monday (885 Coils, 90000 shocks up front & N182 shocks in back and OME Dakar Leaf pack) with Light Racing UCAs. I did the swaybar relo., greased (CRC Synthetic) & torqued everything to spec. Rechecked torque all around this morning and threw in the included OME CB drop, which seemed to reduce them a little bit. Got an alignment after installing the OME CB drop and everything is in spec, but still have vibes. Waiting for Brian to build my Beefedtaco CB drop (he said he's gonna bang out a few on Monday for those who've been waiting like I have) and we'll see if that helps.

*EDIT - Holy Shit, I just realised(sic) this is from a year ago. I got the years mixed up. Oh, well VIVA LA REVIVAL!!!!

So, after another full day of driving, the vibes are pretty significant between 35-45mph. They are not constant, but more like an intermittant circular vibration at those speeds. They do subside with 4WD engaged, so I know it's from the rear. I went ahead and ordered some 3° axle shims today, so along my CB drop, I should be able to do some trial and error tests and hopefully resolve it.

I interpreted the opposite, granted in 4wd the rear driveline is still engaged, the from diff is taking some of the load, therefore decreasing the torque to the rear and removing the vibration. The best way to test is to remove the rear DS completely and drive in 4wd. I could be wrong, but then again, there are many "self-proclaimed experts" on here, and it's best to try things yourself and just share you experiences. I hope it's not the front though, i really don't want to have to go to the dealership and hassle with them about it.

Drive line angles my friends, When lifting a truck you must get the working angles on the drivelines correct. If not it can eat up transmissions and diffs.

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
That's the main goal of my troubleshooting: to get my rear driveshaft at the correct angle. I added an OME front lift and Dakar leafs w/ OME shocks, so I raised the back about 2 3/4". Now I'm on the vibe hunt, the OME CB drop helped alleviate the vibes at lower speeds, but from 35-45mph it's pretty bad. I can't contribute it to worn out u-joints or other routine maintenance, the truck has only 8500 miles.
