Hi Guys I've read threads about bad wheel bearings. I have vibrations at 60 mph and above until about 70mph. I can feel it a little in my steering wheel. When I turn right it goes away and the ride smooths out. I changed my passengers front wheel bearing and hub assembly and the problem is still there. Could this be the rear wheel bearing? I haven't read much about the rear bearings. Are these easy to change out?
    Thanks for any help.

I've changed the fluids in the rear diff, transfercase, and manual tranny. I also changed out the rear drive shaft u-joints

Have you checked the balance on the front wheels? You may have lost a weight. :notsure:

EDIT: Especially if it's more of a feel than a noise (hum or the like).

This! I had a very similar problem. My local tire guy never could balance my wheels properly. I took it to the dealship to get balanced and it was fixed immediately.

I would suggest a simple test of raising the front of the truck and doing the "wiggle" test on both front wheels to check for bad bearing, tie rods, or other suspension components. Also check the front diff bushings (assuming you are 4WD) to see if there is some play there. Just a few suggestions to start.

I didn't think it would be a tire out of balance where it goes away when i turn right. But anything is possible. I will have them balanced and rotated. Thanks for your help.
I'm getting pissed with this. Its been going on for awhile now.

FWIW ... I'd do this too, Bill tends to know what he's talking about along these lines. ;)

This is what I am going to have to do. My tire guys can't get mine balanced at all. They have stick on weights all over the inside of my wheels.

WHEEL BEARING!!!!!! try swapping the wheel bearing from the right side to left and see if the problem switches sides. or just buy another wheel bearing

If you decide to get your wheels and tires rebalanced, find a tire shop that does road force balancing! The dealer does this, but you should be able to find an independent shop that will be cheaper than the dealer.

Ok I climbed back under my truck while the front was off the ground and cant find anything out of the ordinary. I checked the ball joints sway bar end links I spun both sides. The drivers side sounds slightly grainy? The passengers side I just replaced last night. I checked the front drive shaft u joints but I think the front drive shaft doesn't spin unless the 4wd is on. I'm taking a trip to Maine this week about 400 miles one way. I hope the truck doesn't leave me stranded...
On a lighter side while pulling my truck into the garage I ran over a bottle of weed killer and sprayed everything with in a 10 foot radius...

It still vibrates and I can hear a hum at 60 to 70 mph then it goes away and it will also go away if I turn to the right.

I would say wheel bearing since the noise is connected with the turning

I found something! Not sure if this is normal. I've always had solid front end trucks... The cv shaft on the drivers side is very sloppy going into the front diff. I can wiggle it quite a bit. The passengers side is tight. Is this normal or should it be tight? I'm going to check the front diff fluid also to make sure nothing leaked out. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Judging by your explanation , it sounds like you are going to need a new needle bearing kit for the drivers side and then a new wheel bearing . Did the noise go away in 4x4 ? This will take care of the sloppy axle .
    Ecgs has the kit ......http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2n...nt-differential-bearing-vibration-thread.html

Becuase the pitch changes when you turn , I suspect a wheel bearing as well .
Here is a short write up showing how to diagnose this .

It might be the bearing, but I think, as I mentioned before I think, you will need to get a bushing kit from ECGS. (Do a search for it on TW) and replace the bushing, as well as the driver's CV axle.
