Forgive me if this is a noob thing to ask... but has anyone else experienced a vibration at a specific speed in the 60mph range? I get it from about 63.5 mph to 65mph.

The inside of the cab itself does not vibrate but I get a TON of feedback on the steering wheel. As soon as I speed up or slow down a little it goes away and the wheel goes back to giving minimal feedback. Very confused because at 62mph and at 66mph its smooth as butter.

Not sure if this is a Taco issue or a tire-out-of-balance issue

My first guess is an out of balance wheel/tire. It could be as simple as some dried mud stuck in the wheel.

I had this exact issue recently. Tire rotation got rid of the vibration for me. good luck.

You could have 1 tire not perfectly round
If you get them re balanced and check your alignment and the problem persists, a shitty tire is prob the cause

I had a vibration around 50-55 mph. Needed new tires anyway, so I bought Michelin LTX Defenders and the vibration is gone.

I actually rotated my tires yesterday and haven't driven since... who knows I may be pleasantly surprised to find out its gone.

Just drive 62 or 66 and don’t sweat it?

I was fighting with steering wheel vibes at 100km/h and I'm pretty certain one of my winter tires is fubar from the factory.

Just asking if you had an issue, and rotated the tires, and have not checked to see if its corrected. Why post ? Asking for a friend.

I rotated the tires out of standard maintenance, not an attempt to fix this vibration

I'm assuming this hasn't been going on since you bought the truck (unless you bought it used). Maybe tires or alignment, but my experience has been that vibrations of these types don't get better as speed increases. Has anything changed like external accessories? I've come to suspect things one would never even think of when it comes to vibrations. I have a 2005 Harley Super Glide Custom that would vibrate fiercely at 65 mph and then settle down below this and above from 70 mph up. Dealer looked at it and couldn't figure it out. Everything was tight, aligned properly and wheels balanced perfectly. It drove me nuts for a couple of years. One day I decided I was going to change out the seat for a solo seat and remove the backrest. Vibration went away immediately once I did this. The whole time it was being caused somehow by the way the air was hitting the backrest and causing a buffet that went through the frame.

The only external modification that I've added to the truck is a tonneau cover, so its not due to any mods I've done. The vibration happens between 63.5 and 65 mph and dies off after that. I can cruise at 80mph with no vibration at all, but if I were to ease onto my brakes the wheel will vibrate when I get down to 65. confusing, I know.

I'm curious about this as well. Completely stock, I never noticed this occurrence in with my truck. Going bigger/more agressive tires, I went through close to 13 tires trying to find a set of 4 that would be "in round" or could "road force balance", eventually to the point that I went went an entirely different brand and model of tire in effort to alleviate those same exact steering wheel shakes. It was always interesting to me that the tires would balance out according to machines, but could be teetering the line of "acceptable/not acceptable runout", so I've always chalked it up to that particular type of tire having a bunch of bad defects from factory (bc I've seen countless posts on here about the same brand in the same size giving the same problems). Fast forward to many more mods and new wheels/tires entirely, those issues went away; however, very very rarely, steering wheel vibes around that same speed come and go, not consistent enough to diagnose. I think I've just gotten used to it because its ever so rare to occur, but I noticed it this morning actually, so felt like I'd chime in and ask what are other factors to consider besides out of balance tires for those of us who have completely ruled that out? I mentioned greasing driveshaft (to models where its applicable) to another member and that fixed his vibes.

How about when you apply the brakes at a high speed with some force? No vibration even while not around 65? You mentioned the tonneau, but didn't say if this was already occurring or started after installing the cover. I'm assuming you're saying the cover didn't make a difference.

Might be that some wheel weights came off, its done it with me and caused bad vibrations. Had everything rebalanced and that stopped it for me.
