I have a 07 prerunner and it doesn't have a carrier bearing. I did notice a one of the bearings on my u-joints was missing a sleeve but not convinced that is the source. Mine makes a vibration mostly when I let off the accelerator and gets worse when letting off going down hill. but I can't feel it in the floor, on the steering wheel, or even in the shifter. recently changed oil, trans fluid, and rear end with no evidence of wear and no change in vibration. Haven't heard any noise to do with axle wrap as described on the site. but the rear does sit lower than the front.

and just to clarify I own a 2007 Prerunner, regular cab, 5spd. 2wd. 55k miles, no lsd

I don't think they make PreRunner reg cabs, in the US anyway. I would get your tires rotated and balanced first.

Why are you convinced it isn't a U Joint? Esp since one is missing the seal. It doesn't take a lot of water to wash out the bearing grease and then, Rust and bearing failure.

they def make prerunner reg cabs

not sure if this helps at all, i'd take a look at those u joints anyway, but when 1 of my 3 u joints went bad, i'd have lots of vibs while accel, it would go away when letting off the gas, and switching in neutral, just my findings....
