I have a weird vibration under the gas pedal around 35-55mph. It just feels rough and can feel some in steering wheel. Same vibration is not there when sitting and Revving to same rpms. I can put in 4 high and it seems to go away too. Also about a month ago I was going up a steep switchback in 2wd on concrete. so going uphill and turned hard to the left there were 3 loud clunks. Sounded like coming from front right side. I have put new bearings on the front about 50k miles ago so I don’t think it is bearings. Could it be the CV axle? What happens if that fails in 2wd on the interstate? Anything?

I also just had the tires rotated and balanced to see if it would go away and there was no change in vibration. Fluid looks good as well in font diff so no metal or anything.

Also sometimes driving off the edge of something or back up on something that causes a bump up or drop I hear a slight knock up in the front right.

2006 TRD Sport 4x4 with 246,000 miles. Only mod is a 2 inch Revtek leveling kit.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Since it goes away in 4WD, I’d suspect it may be the front needle bearing.
This is a classic symptom when it starts to wear. Though most of the time you see it occurring on lifted truck. But not always.

Also, is there any change in noise when turning left of right. Like when you are going around curves?

As for the knock, it maybe be worn or loose control arm bushings or bolts.
Check the lower control arm bolts to see if they are tight.
If they get loose, they can cause a knock. Particularly when going in reverse while turning the wheels sharp.

Def sounds like s needle bearing. I literally just replaced mine the other day. Solid vibration and groaning feel at 30-40mph. Replaced bearing and its fixed!!

no noise when turning on a flat surface. The only time I have heard a noise turning was going up the switchback. It almost sounded like something was binding up.

Its pretty straight forward and not too technical. you do however need a tool to pull the old bearing out of the diff.
    Where are you located?

Definitely sounds like the needle bearing like said above. Not terrible to do. Guys at ECGS were very helpful with advice also. And their replacement bushing comes with fairly detailed instructions on how to do it. Definitely need the removal tool but the installation tool that comes from them is the same as a seal driver set if you already have a seal drive set.

What would that indicate if true? Apologies for hijacking the thread, but I was just about to post my own vibration issue. 2006 4X4 with 80k. Vibration comes on about 25mph and stays up to highway speeds. When curving to the right, vibration goes away. Hope you have some idea.

Okay I am in the same boat with vibrations at ~45-58 mph. I have a 07 with 165k and 4inch Pro comp lift. Just replaced Wheel Bearings (both fronts), passenger CV Axle, both UCA, Both outer tie rods, both front struts, tires rotated and balanced. Got an dealership appointment on 1/6/22 for the TSB for new leaf springs. I tried 4hi trick, I still get the vibrations. Slap into neutral and nearly goes away immediately. I can move the center axle bearing some, but maybe normal? Should I wait on the TSB for new leaf springs and see if goes away? I did notice that having a full tank of gas with have the vibration to be more versus near empty tank. Any help/comment appreciated.
