Maybe someone can give me good news...my new 2019 Tacoma has slight vibrations at or near 20 mph and it does so mainly during deceleration and cruising speed (with no foot on brake or gas) or with it. The dealership said completely changing out my rear axle and a few other parts in that area would fix that. But it hasn’t. It’s not a big deal to some I’m sure but if I buy a new vehicle I expect more from it. Told the dealership that it’s not fixed and they said they’d contact Toyota for more advice. Anyone else have this problem, maybe with 2017-18 model and had it resolved???

My 2018 has a slight vibe on deceleration also. Been a common thing for every Tacoma I have owned and it has never caused an issue. Just drive it and be happy you’re fortunate enough to drive a Tacoma

First post with complaints about new Tacos usually don't turn out well.

I have the same thing, 20-30 mph it shakes. My truck is at the dealership today for the issue and they just called me and said everything's fine, even though I had a manager ride with me previously and he agreed there was a problem. Now apparently he has amnesia so I have to go in the morning to drive another manager around. I hate getting jerked around.

Lots of people seem to think Tacoma’s should drive like a Mercedes and are unhappy when they don’t. Just drive your truck and enjoy it. If a real issue arises then address it but don’t go searching for problems that might not exist

My 2019 did the same and now at 3,300+ miles I'm either used to it or it worked itself out <shrugs>.

You'd think they'd get this figured out, but vibrations are just a feature of a Tacoma. Some seem to be driveline related, and others are just poorly managed harmonics. All/most vehicles will have some engine / exhaust vibrations in a certain RPM range but generally in my experience it's present right around a shift point so it isn't constant. In many Tacos (based on what I see on TW and my own experience), they have this tuned to give you the "gift" of vibrations that are present right in the highway cruising zone of 2000-2300 rpms. Pumping premium helps a little bit, can look for loose cables like the throttle wire that can be vibrating and secure it and that will help some with the pedal vibrations. If it's at a certain speed under certain acceleration / deceleration it could be the bushing that's been referenced.

I finally gave up and am just living with it. for now.

I had the EXACT issue, but it only happened after I added a small 1.5" lift. I went to the dealer, they put in a new needle bearing. 2 weeks later vibes were back. Went and got the ECGS bushing and that fixed it for good. Going on over a year with it now and no vibes.
The stock driver cv needle bearing is garbage

My truck did shake in that range and, very oddly, replacing the rear drivers side drum fixed that particular issue.

I get that a truck drives differently than a car, but at 34,000 dollars, I expected better. Now I’ll probably learn to live with it if it can’t be fixed because I always wanted a Tacoma and even through mine is 4x2 I plan to do a lot of mods to it to fit my sports, wildlife and adventure photography lifestyle. Just had hopes a brand new truck won’t run like a truck with 200,000 miles on it is all.

It’s part of their charm. They run the same at 200k as they did at 20k.
Gotta look on the bright side

I have a 2001 sequoia that has stiff shitty brakes , every shock is pretty shot , saltwater damage from boat ramp fun, mismatched tires, and 278k on the clock.

If drives as you would expect it to drive with all those things, the new taco I have is miles above it. However, one thing the sequoia doesn’t do is vibrate/ shake while lightly braking .

I see a lot of threads where people seem to be bitching about driving a truck vs. their old car and understand the resentment of the repetitive threads.

There are also people out there who have owned Jeeps with two solid axles , F150’s ,4runners, and a t100 (me) that have truck experience and say “ something isn’t right with this” when it comes to the shudder/vibration while braking.

There are just as many Toyota dickriders getting defensive about their choice of vehicle slopping up problem threads. That’s just how they ride ...sure. Reminds me of apple fans .. take away useful ports and call it revolutionary and they eat it up.

Good luck finding a solution op and try out the search function ... there are a good number of recent threads discussing this issue on some owners 2019’s. Most of the useful info seems to be covered in the sticky about driveline vibration even though that doesn’t pertain to our year models ... yet.

I've owned half a dozen trucks, driven many SUVs, and driven most of the vehicles toyota makes. My dad's older model 4 runner with a lift kit and 33 mud tires has less vibration than my brand new 2019 tacoma. I don't suscribe to the b.s. of "its a truck it drives like shit". I traded in a 2016 Tundra for my Tacoma, and my Tundra was a cadillac compared to the Tacoma.

Go back to the dealer and tell them to give you the male version. You got the female version.

Update... The dealership said Toyota told them to completely replace the drift shaft and that "should" fix the problem. The mechanic said when we was removing my (new) driveshaft to get ready to replace it with a (newer) drive shaft, he noticed some things in it that could have led to the problem and he was convinced it this time it would be the fix. So we shall see. I'll pick it up tomorrow (Friday). If not, I told my saleman that the third trip for the same problem would lead to them completely replacing the truck and giving me another new one.
