Video Game Collectors

Probably a long shot, but any one on here collect old SNES or NES games? I have some I need to price out and sell, and would like some advice from someone knowledgeable. Feel free to PM me.

 

I do a little collecting. Not really active but i'll pick up games as i see them. Whats your exact dilemma on pricing?

 

I dont collect but I'll play the shit outta some old video games. What games do you have for regular nes?

 

a tub of about 50... some still in original box and plastic, which is what I would need help verifying. Basically, don't want to unintentionally screw someone over selling something I think is original or something. Super Metroid for example on ebay is going for like 3-500. Mine is brand new in plastic along with mega man etc...

This original post was a while ago. Did you sell them? How'd it go?

 

Can you take better pictures of the plastic seal on the box? Reseals are all too common and these could not be legitimate factory sealed. I’ve bought games before that have been resealed but advertised as factory sealed.

It’s called an “H—Seam” where the machine burns the plastic off and seals it. By taking more detailed pictures of the edges of the box and this H—Seam I can help you determine if it’s really even factory sealed.

 

Hey guys. I can get some better pics this weekend. After this post i ended up putting these in plastic tote boxes and storing them inside cause I realized i knew nothing about video games or trying to sell them. They came from a distant family member who was a hoarder, I wouldn’t know the difference from h seal or original. I just saved the boxes from being thrown away from the house. @BartMaster1234 @JasonArizona

 

I'm surprised you still have them lying around! I'd be interested in seeing what you have. I'd use ebay for pricing but I have a good idea of what is rare or valuable and what isn't. I might even take them off your hands.

Mega man X, Turtles in Time, and Super Metroid are going to be your biggest titles.

Are you still looking to sell them? I’ve been collecting for about 10 years and have close to 1000 games for nes n64 and Xbox

This is FULL BLOWN retail. And I’d expect to get about 80% of the complete in box prices. Even at conventions most people buy/sell at 20% of price charting

This is crazy! It looks like I missed the boat.

 

The big thing to look for with these is the H seal to determine if they are re-sealed or sealed from the factory. If you look at the back, there should be a horizontal line seal going the width of the game box. This isn't 100% reliable but if you see that, it's very likely an originally sealed game. I found something similar on ebay to get a picture.



Another telltale sign is a price tag (I see some of those on yours) and/or a hang tag used to keep it on display.

I'm not sure if the same is true with Genesis games. The loose games aren't worth a ton but this is a badass collection that I would have been proud of.

If that Super Metroid has a seal across the back, that could be worth some big bucks. Some of the prices a few posts above this show how much a sealed-in-box set of games can be sold for.
