Understand completely. You used to be able to build a stupid good pc for $1500. Not anymore

I know I'm looking at some msi laptops in the $1500 range that have stupid amounts of power. I am thinking about getting one of those this year sometime. I'm hoping msi drops a new model so that way those will be cheaper

I built a pretty decent PC back in 2017, and I've just been upgrading it piecemeal over the years; it's been great.

Got a GeForce 4070 for Christmas - I *WAS* getting set up for STALKER 2, but now that's delayed 'til September apparently.

If you want a laptop that can do it all, Asus the republic of gamers series. Msi is what I would call good but not real good. But I guess it depends on the green backs and what you want to accomplish.

I'm honestly not sold on Asus. Their quality control here lately has not been good. Me personally and others have had great success with msi

I’m a big fan of refurb laptops - picked up a dell precision with an i9, 32gb ram, 512gb storage and an Nvidia a1000 for $900 a couple months ago.

I’m not much of a gamer, but it plays the things I want.

Also looked at some of the powerful gaming laptops and all the reasonable priced ones seemed like they really sacrifice on quality in order to max performance.

I wanna pick up that machine sometime. If they run a good sale on the 32gb version for ram, I'll get that one. That's something I can easily add later and it's not worth the extra $400. 16gb is all you need to game with.

That machine is on sale, if I had that money just laying around. I would buy it right now. But I do not. I'm a big msi guy. In my personal opinion, Asus is not what they used to be.

I know everyone has their own opinion on hardware for machines. But thats my take. If something has worked good for you, stick with it. Nonsense to switch unless toy start to have problems with the brand. I currently use a acer predator. I got it off my friend for $400. And for the specs on paper at the time, for $400. I had to have it since it was like new. It still does just fine. But I honestly want more power. Games are getting more and more demanding
