So I'm currently installing a Viper 5706v system in my 2003 Tacoma (V6). Everything seems to be working except the remote start; it is throwing an error code on the remote when I try to start it, or even put in manual mode. The unit clicks a few times after it throws the code, not sure what that means... Currently I have all the wires hooked up (in bold) except the Pink/Black. Would love if someone can correct my wiring, I've been researching for HOURS and I'm not finding any answers. Possibly because this truck has 2 ignition wires, there seems to be confusion with the flex relay.

    ANY INPUT IS MUCH APPRECIATED!!

    Harness 3 (H3/):

    1 NC No Connection
    N/A

    2 RED/BLACK (+) FUSED 12V ACCESSORY/STARTER INPUT
    White 12V Constant Wire

3 PINK/BLACK (+) FLEX RELAY INPUT 87A key side (if required) of FLEX RELAY
    **???**

    4 PINK/WHITE (+) IGNITION 2 / FLEX RELAY OUTPUT
    Black/Yellow Ignition 2 Wire

    5 RED (+) FUSED 12V IGNITION 1 INPUT
    White/Red 12V Constant Wire

6 GREEN (+) STARTER INPUT (KEY SIDE OF THE STARTER KILL)
Key-side of CUT Black Starter Wire

7 VIOLET (+) STARTER OUTPUT (CAR SIDE OF THE STARTER KILL)
Starter-side of CUT Black Starter Wire

    8 ORANGE (+) ACCESSORY OUTPUT
    Blue/Red Accessory(/Heater Blower) Wire

    9 RED/WHITE (+) FUSED 12V IGNITION 2 / FLEX RELAY INPUT 87
    White 12V Constant Wire

    10 PINK (+) IGNITION 1 INPUT/OUTPUT
    Black/Red Ignition 1 Wire

+I will add that the only wire I cut was the starter, aside from that the other wires are all tapped, no cuts.

I couldn't get mine to work either. Finally gave up. If I really want it I'll pay car toys $200 to hook it up. I have a different alarm but same shit here.

I've got the same System. I didn't install it so really can't help you with that. What I could do is take some pictures
for you. What would i take a picture off...the Ignition ? Any thing else? Little busy today.

Oh if you get time that'd be great!!! Just a few pictures of the ignition harness (below the steering column). Chances are you can tell which wires are hooked up where. I'm mostly concerned about the pink wires (there are 3, but you're might only have 2). And then without removing anything, if you have a manual, a picture of the wires connected to the clutch would be useful, that is, if you have any. Thank you so much!!!

I called geek squad (Best Buy installers) and all they had to say was "wiring sounds fine, I'd check the clutch bypass" which may be an issue, but even when I have the clutch depressed, it won't make a difference when putting it into MTM mode or R/S so I need to recheck

I tried everything I could. Please let me know what you find out. Love to get mine going to. Be careful though because you can sort out the fuse to the starter. It's an easy fix, just have to buy the fuse. But it might make your truck not start.

I also have an on and off switch near this area that is in the off position. Do you have any idea if that is related to the viper

yeah those are the three pink wires, do you know what wires they are connected to? They should be connected to the wires below the steering column

Those wires head up to the steering column. Stuck my head in there but their out of sight. Only way
to see them would be to take the whole front off dashboard. I have done that before, but its a little cold now to be
fart'in around in the garage. Sorry I couldn't be more help

No worries. Turns out my wiring was fine but I had to bypass the clutch

How did you do that. Because I could get mine to like flash the lights for starting but it wouldn't turn over?

So you can do multiple things, you can:

    A) Be lazy as fuck and tie the two wires on the clutch together
    B) Wire a relay to the clutch using the status output wire on the 24-pin harness, so it gets bypassed on startup
    C) Do what I did and wire a switch to the two clutch wires that bypasses it when on. Essentially all this does is signal that the clutch is depressed when it's not, but it won't affect cruise control because there's a switch that's triggered when the clutch is released, and that's the signal for CC. But as for the switch to bypass the clutch being depressed, I just soldered it to the two wires on the clutch switch so when I'm using remote start I can flip it on, but if I ever park in gear because I'm on a hill or something, it doubles as a safety net because if you forget and hit that R/S button while in gear, it won't start and you won't accidentally lurch the truck in gear. Really the only time I flip it off. Aside from that it just acts as a bypass when on so when on relatively flat ground I park in neutral and keep it on for the R/S to work. Very simple.

That's freaking bad ass. I may have to dig into it again. I thought the clutch start cancel would have worked. Your idea is genius. I even tried bypassing the break pedal to no avail.

Haha thank you, I just put the rocker right next to the diff lock switch, looks pretty clean and there's space to put whatever style switch you want there
