Visiting San Antonio

The wife and I are heading to San Antonio this weekend for my niece's graduation. We will have one day to go sight-seeing. How can we make the maximum use of our time?

What are y'all wanting to do? What part of San Antonio are you going too?

 

Depends where.

You could go see the Alamo and River walk.

 

there are the missions, the Japanese tea garden's as well and margarita's on the river, could also go over to the Pearl complex if you are close to downtown

 

I say see the river walk and the shops. Ride a river bardge. Alamo is cool to see but very dry. Umm there are missions some are cool. The SA zoo is blah.

 

If you have never been and only have a day, you can't not see the Alamo... right on the riverwalk. it's sort of the thing to do. I've been on the revolving restaurant tower (requires reservation) and it was neat. There are a handful of other things to do in that area if margaritas and Mexican food on the river don't occupy you for long. Also there is sea world a few miles out but i would check with them to see what attractions are open and/or still exist... i would also check around for expected crowds because that can be a bear.

 

Alamo.

The missions are cool too.

 

Spurs game tonight, 2nd round of playoffs. See if there's tickets available.
It's rainy today but la cantera is an open upscale mall with nice scenery, six flags is next to that. There's also stone oak/ sonterra with a lot of shops. River walk of course with lots of restaurants.

 

When you get hungry, Tejas brisket... Rudy's or Big Bib.

 

Bring me back a proper brisket sandwich, VA bbq blows

 

Thanks. It sounds like the Alamo, and the River Walk for sure; maybe some others is we can squeeze it in.

 

Visit the Alamo, have dinner and drinks and walk along the RiverWalk, those two things for sure just depending on what time the graduation is that particular day. After that well anything else goes.

Y'all pick'd a great time to come down for a visit to SA cause the weather is going to be fantastic this coming weekend for sure!

We'll be doing the sightseeing on Friday; the graduation is Saturday. We'll have all day Friday.

So what did you go see??

 

The Alamo, of course. Did a boat ride on the Riverwalk, St. Fernando's Cathedral, had a beer in the Menger Hotel, and visited one of the missions. The purpose of the trip was really for the graduation so we only got in about an day and a half of sight-seeing. But we've already decided we are going back when we can stay longer.
