2018 OR, was driving around and the driver visor abruptly fell off and is dangling by a string.

Is this an easy fix or a visit to the dealer? The dealer charges a diagnostic fee if it is not covered by warranty, dont want to get screwed.20190711_102942.jpg

I don't see why that would not be covered by warranty.

It's a warranty issue. Should be covered.

Should be warrantied. But should also be an easy fix. Looks like a barring/nut popped off

It actually hanging by electric wires that can short if they wear out the insulation- use tape to temporarily immobilize the thing to the windshield and bring it to the dealer to get repaired.

Don't bother taking it to the dealer. The less exposure your truck has to their incompetent techs the better. Shove that sucker back in until you hear/feel a click. My visor hasn't fallen off since.

I had the same issue. The dealer will replace it for free. No problem. For now, push it back in and don’t rotate it to the side window. If you rotate it to the drivers side window, it will fall out again.

It's not broken, it just slipped out of the groove. If it falls out again, you're doing it wrong. Mine hasn't fallen out after pushing it back in, and it's been a year and a half of use.

Pretty easy fix, if pushing it up until it clicks in place doesn't do the trick. Here's a few pics with a zip tie. Hasn't been an issue again.

Mine fell out right away and I shoved it back in about 5 times and finally I told the dealer about it, and they replaced under warranty no questions.
They said the price was close to $300.00 for that cheaply made pos!
Another gripe I have is there are no seat belt stiffeners to hold the seat belt actuators in place. Seriously Toyota cheaped out on this truck.
