Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
might wanna get this moved to either performance&tuning or 2nd gen tacos, but someone on the site has the full volant setup w/ the scoop. also, that does not hook up to the scoop. it sits above the radiator support and funnels air in from the grill. no one so far makes an intake to work w/ our scoop. i dont think anyone will b/c the hood supports are there and its right on top of the engine.

yea that ram air intake off eBay is completely worthless!

Either a custom setup, or URD TCAI is the best way to go IMO...

that would be me. click on my gallery or search for the forum for the thread on this

like it has been stated it sucks in air from the top of the radiator not where the hood scoop is. i'd say that the volant ram air and CAI setup is the best choice for a 2.7

Seems that kind of setup looks flimsy. If nothing is really attached to the hood, 1. There would not really be a good seal from the hood scoop to the intake device and cause all kinds of whistling noise, 2. if it was attached, you couldnt open the hood.
I would like some kind of Mustang shaker hood setup, here the hood scoop fits down into a rigid base that wouldn't bend and bounce around like I think this tube device I'm seeing on ebay.

the scoop is made of some pretty tough plastic or whatever. it does flex a little but not flimsy. on my truck that sucker is in there and is going nowhere.

you take off the cosmetic plastic radiator and front grille connector and replace it with the ram air scoop from volant using some of the hardware that the connector used. the scoop hangs down over the top of the radiator about 2 or 3 inches and sucks in air from the front grill opening. it kinda works like the deck plate mod on the gen 1 tacomas
