Not sure, the email I saw said "We are not manufacturing or taking any new orders for TRD PRO Tacomas with Manual transmissions until further notice. If you have not recieved confirmations for current orders any funds collected for deposits should be refunded."

The email came from someone at Toyota Corporate to the inventory procurement person at the dealership I had placed my order at. I was told my order was not confirmed and at this point they could not place any new orders for the truck I specified.

I know there are other trucks around the US like I want, but unfortunately I am not able to travel and purchase anywhere outside of my state at the moment.

    Well, that makes sense.

I have no idea what the future will bring but believe in the next few years Toyota will not make a MT Tacoma. Could this be the end?

    Maybe.

So once you remove it and replace the fender what else do you have to do do you have to change the air box or anything else or does that it just the fender and take off the desert air intake

I’m assuming the air has to be redirected/blocked and computer reflashed to account for not having the DAI.

VDB TRD PRO owner. I love the color but hate the stance. Any word on spacers or suspension upgrades? I’d like to add a spacer because I am very happy with performance not height.

This is my first Taco. I have had Tundras and FJ’s (currently own one FJ with ICON, SPG UCA, MT4X4 rear links, etc. BM chop, blah blah blah...) just added info to let people know that I am familiar with lifts etc.

I ran OME BP51’s on my ‘14 FJ and loved the performance!

What is the biggest tire I can run on these TRD wheels without issue?

    Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure, I'm replacing it with an arb. The chances of the arb fitting in the existing holes is close to zero minus the actual intake hole. That leave me with two options, 1. Just drill the new holes and leave the old ones cause they will be covered by the arb anyways or 2. Get a whole new fender have it painted and predrilled. Obviously I'm hoping not to have to do that

Why are you changing to ARB?

Lots of off-roading on the way. I picked up my 18 Pro in Salt Lake and drove it back to Albuquerque via Canyonlands and the White Rim Trail completely stock.

You are very limited about what you can mount to the roof because the DAI uses the roof racks mounts and the snorkle head sits extremely high. For instance mounts a prinsu cabrac is out of the question.

I wondered about that when I read that yesterday or today. Poor design AND ugly. What were they thinking?

I know, it sucks to be honest I really wanted the cement grey or even a black but I was pressed for time and all they had was the voodoo
Dont get me wrong I absolutely love the truck but it's going to cost quite a bit to replace the DAI with the ARB. I'm praying I dont need to buy a new fender and they can just drill new holes and the ARB will cover the old ones as well with no issues. I just ordered a prinsu cabrac so I'm eager to get this switch done before then.

For anyone in the forum that is intrested I am a build page where I share my ideas and give and take advice. I love to talk ideas so please feel free to stop by and check it out!

I emailed Prinsu the other day, if you are close to Utah I would suggest to email them they are looking for a truck with DAI to take measurement.

Edit : Nvm you're in NC, not much closer than I am lol
