Sorry OP. This topic has been beaten to death. The truck needs more power I agree with you but there is no good answer to your problem. Believe me or id know about it. People post complaining about power and shifting here every day on this truck.

On another note this thread is Friday Gold rated for entertainment potential.

The 3rd Gen forum is full of people who don't know what they want.

    1. Too slow but want more Mpg
    2. Want to put a turbo on it, should have probably purchased the already twin turbo F-150, buyers remorse
    3. I climb on rocks and scrape against animals and I don't understand why everything is breaking and I'm getting charged for the repair
    4. I hate my truck although I did zero research before I bought it and I don't understand why people are bashing on me for complaining about it

    It's clockwork now.

sounds like the dealer swindled you with his salesmanship regarding the ECT and otherwise.

I say turbo it. Go big or go home...

plus I doubt a chip tune (if there ever is one) will do anything, they are mostly a gimmick.

Like I said - https://www.homemadeturbo.com/ is the OP's only choice at this point.

Should have stuck with the v8 if you wanted power, but by all means go ahead and be to my knowledge the first to turbo a 3.5. I would shy away from supercharging, but make sure you intercool, you'll regret it later on. Don't want to heat soak an already bad engine.

Supposedly Toyota was going to get much better Gas mileage with this motor. Haven't really seen the averages pan out that way...minor improvement from 2nd gen...maybe 1mpg

OVTuners are apparently working on a tune for us FYI.

    I'm anxiously waiting for it.

That's the biggest bullshit from. All cars can roll off production and should be dam near close to rated performance. Hell even rebuilt bike motors are broken in at full tilt to wear in the rings and never skip a beat on the dyno.

This is inconceivable to me the best I can get if I'm running 65 on FLAT highway for 30+ miles is 21mpg.

If I'm at 75 it drops sharply to 19.
