Go to a different alignment shop. The steering isn’t centered correctly and the sensors in the steering wheel think you’re turning further than you actually are and are causing the stability control to engage.

Don’t use the place you used previously ever again.

Well I’ve run out of alignment shops within a hour and a half drive now over this. I’ve had the steering recalibrated by a number of different shops including one that only deals with Toyota and Lexus. And it shouldn’t be doing it at all with the vsc turned off should it?

I suspect the steer wheel needs to be re-zeroed to center and the the tie rods adjusted to even. The VSC is kicking in cause it is detecting a different change of direction when it compares to the amount of steering input. It only does this when turning to one direction correct?

Yes only does it going to the right. But before today if I left the vsc turn on it would do it. Turn the vsc off and it wouldn’t. Today it done it with it off. My question is that will it still do it with it turned off. Is that only to certain limits that it will stay off? Is there no way to turn it off?

The truck has no pull. Steering wheel runs straight. Everything is good until a right hand curve

Yep. Steering needs to be re centered. The alignment shop has it tracking straight but the trucks computer is thinking your turning

Ok again is there any way to turn the vsc off. Because before it wouldn’t do it with it off. With it on it would. Now it’s doing it either way.

Several years ago here in TW there was a long lengthy discussion about the elusive Vehicle Stability Nanny and that even with it off, sometimes it kicks in. I think @OZ-T was part of that conversation a lot. Maybe he can add some info.

Also, next time you’re in your truck, turn your steering wheel from stop to stop, counting rotations then count back to center based on your steering wheel revolutions then see if your steering wheel is properly centered visually and then get out and look at the position of your tires. I predict they won’t be straight ahead.

Yeah I’ve read that one before and had the zero point calibration done afterwards. Still the same

The zero point calibration is different than the VSC calibration in Techstream...I just did it Saturday.

I’m also thinking you should go to a dealer and ask them to connect their techstream and see what the yaw position is reading at steering center and also recalibrate it

Yeah I was wondering the same thing about the reset that’s posted on here vs the actual zero point calibration. I had one shop say the could and did perform the zero point but it never helped. Wonder if the dealership is the only ones that can actually do a zero point.

And I did the steering wheel turn alway to one side then the other. Got about 1 5/8 turns to the right and to the left. To me the wheels look pretty straight to me.

Maybe ask in your local regional thread if anyone has TechStream and the OBDII cable. It’s $65 for a two day license.

Take it to a dealer and ask for a zero point calibration of your VSC sensor. There's a few threads about it on here, take a look first so you understand what it does.

That is, if you haven't already fixed it.

The trips to the dealerships for zero point calibration did absolutely nothing for mine. I ended up doing a vsc kill switch. It does turn the abs light on but that was better than the alternative. I did however fix the whole problem by getting a new Cummins. Lol

What about replacing the VSC computer or whatever it's called. Probably expensive though. You get a 2500?

I never checked in on that. I had zero issues after doing the kill switch and a little black tape covered up the abs light. Lol. And yeah I went back to a 2500. That’s all I’ve ever owed and always wanted to try a Tacoma. So I did then went back. It was an awesome truck but not for me

Have you ever had many expensive problems with the Rams? Whenever I do get a new truck I'm thinking the new Rams look nice, and I like the adjustable air suspension for hauling loads. I'd be getting the 1500 though.

I love Toyota but the MPGs aren't even close to some of the new full size trucks. The F150 with the Ecoboost looks like a good option too but I don't know if I like the twin turbo for long term reliability. Good fuel mileage though.
