Good to know you don't care if someone is selling you a bad product, corporations love customers that'll just roll over and take it.

Surely what we need is more government oversight and regulation. personal responsibility be dammed.

    1. I don't think there will be much HP or mileage change when they redo the software.
    2. 2014 and up already have DEF system.
    3. Larry is a stand up guy, but you're wasting time arguing with him.
    4. What pisses me off is I had my 9 month old car up for sale before this all came about. I'm not selling it because of this emissions crap or because I cannot afford the car. Frankly, I don't own a vehicle that would pass emissions testing, including my brand new Tacoma. Because of medical reasons, it is just too hard for me to get in and out of the car. I was accepting to take a loss just to get it gone, but now it's value has really gone to crap. Therefore, I hope they have a buy back and it pays good as I don't need the car and don't drive it. It will be a long time before the values recover from this, even though it is a simple software problem.

Sad that you feel the need to resort to name calling because someone has an opinion that differs to yours.
I truly am sorry for your medical circumstances. I hope things work out for you.

Uhh, off the top of my head: everyone who's current emissions sticker expires at the end of the month and can no longer drive to work.

Responsibility to do what? Know their car isn't legitimate when they buy it?

    What about a new v

Ok. Life is full of risk. Someone runs a red light while your wife/mom/dad/child is crossing. Hits and kills them.

Are you just going to suck that up?

She should wait a few months for the RS. If she likes the ST the RS is going to make her lose it in her pants

I think @Larry is just sad his dream car is now going to be a mini freight train.

In all honesty this VW debacle really seems to have pissed Diesel fans off in general. Who can blame them? After years of talking up Diesels low emissions and high mpgs this press is definitely going to scare away new less educated buyers to other cars.

I was told by a Ford dealer I could have a RS in early November. So just in time for snow in your part of the world. The AWD will make a world of difference. If she's really stressed she could take out a 1 month rental on a car until the RS comes out. Anyways, back to VW's...

like I said earlier, there's only 9 states in the us that do emissions on light/passenger diesel vehicles and of those 9 most of them just certain counties do it. This is just the drama of the month. I wounder what the government is really trying to distract us from!o_O
