There is a ton of threads about it on tdi club. It's on the justice. Gov website. I'll try to find a link standby (might be a bit)

How can this be right? The ftc says I will get more than I paid for the car new in 2012. That's crazy.

What number did you come up with? I have a 2011 with 40k miles (golf) and I'm looking at a hair over 20k

Our golf is fully loaded with all the options and 40k miles. I got $35k. I guess it pays to be in the pnw. That includes the hush money.

The hush money is already figured into the charted prices.

Maybe I'm not reading it right. What's column 2 then? Not being a dick, I really don't get it.

This is great. I will drive my car VW TDI sportwagen for five and a half years and 70k for $5k total cost. This is even better than the lotus I wrecked where insurance gave me all but $4k back after 40k. Hopefully my taco does as well.

Anyway, get a Tacoma double cab SR 4 cylinder.

Do we get sales tax on the buyback or no?

I already have a double cab. I'm pushing for 4Runner. She wants the Tiguan. I pray that the 2 car seats make to uncomfortable. Sounds like we have several months to sort it out still.

Also, it's good to see I'm still in second place.

Column 2 is not combined with column 1 for the total compensation. Column 1 is what you get (after mileage and equipment additions/deductions) and column 2 is you you get if you keep the car and VW "fixes" it. We are looking at about $19,500 for our 12 Golf and about $23,000 for our 14 Beetle. Not sure what we will do just yet, but we lose $900 right off the bat on the Beetle because it has a manual transmission. If they offer a really good emissions warranty extension on the "fix", we may keep the Beetle.

So the new math equals $29762. Which is almost what we paid for the car new. Still find it hard to believe it would be so much.

I bought mine used. 2011 had 13k miles when I got it and I bought it for 15k out the door.

My buy back is at about 20k. I dunno seems doable. You have a premium model right? They seemed to be worth alot more than the regular models

Yep. My wife had just totaled an 05 Gti that had everything but NAV, so I had to pony up for the fully loaded one. It helps that it was the only one in a 4 state radius as well. I had a friend at my local dealership and he hooked me up on killer deal. I fucking hate car shopping. Have you seen any dates associated with the buy back? All I say is just fall.

Not yet. There will be a 30 day grace period for the public to look at the offer and make comments. Sometime in October or something the ruling will be finalized, not sure of everything in between. It will behoove vw to get as much off the road before end of year I'm sure but I'm no expert or anything we will see
