    This guy is still going.

OKAY! Us Toyota fanboys, who must stroke ourselves looking out the windows at our Tacoma's, ARE REALLY DRIVING MINI VANS. DAMMIT YOU FIGURED IT OUT . You're so right about the Toyota not being a truck. Your wife must be very proud of your accomplishments on the Colorado... Erm... I mean TacomaWorld Forums. +INFINITY rep to you for showing us all how much our trucks are VAGINA's.

Seriously, Mr. Gadget = TOP TROLLER OF ALL TIME FTMFW!!! You bought a small truck and now you can't do anything but whine about it on 3 (that I know of, probably more) threads. Pardon my brashness, but GTFO and go buy a full sized if you want to tow.

Here's a list of features a 2nd gen truck gets with the tow package:

    Transmission Cooler
    Oil Cooler
    Upgraded Alternator
    Upgraded Battery
Tow Hitch to match max tow rating
Prewired pigtail for whatever brake controller you want

Tow in 4 = Towing in Tow haul mode since you will be locked out from O/D... BTW.

    Okay, I'm good now :D.

    Guys its all good....
    .
not happy with a mod that jacks a thread and changes the title and question.

But it is his sand box and he can do as he likes.

I'm a big boy and it just rolls of my back... but alway fun to watch some fanboys blow up when you talk about their brand.

 Yup I'm a typical Toyota fanboy. This is my first Toyota ever... I have a Hyundai and Dodge in the driveway too... Before that a Ford and a GM... I must be addicted to the Toyota smell .

Mod just updated the title to be correct. He's my hero. If I were a woman, oh the things I'd do for him

    TURN UP THE TROLLLLLL.

    yep that about covers it..

and my question was why not add two more.

    Pocket for brake control
    HD overload spring.....

    that is how this started.

yet I may keep the truck both the Tacos are long paid for and just pick up a 1/2 or 3/4 ton 4x4 just for hunting and towing.
Work out better anyway to just leave it hooked up Oct, Nov, and Dec ready to hunt.

My controller fits where I have it, right by that little door that lets me into my fuse panel. There's an overload spring on the Tacoma , that being said it is a truck that's know to do A LITTLE wheeling, so it's a little soft. At least it can flex unlike my Dodge 2500 that feels like ridding a horse in the back seat. Try taking a heavy duty truck up an old logging road to a fishing hole. If you get it there I guarantee you did some damage to the 1/2 or 3/4 ton. Don't even try to get a full ton up most of those roads. No one needs to see a diesel getting towed out by a Jeep/Tacoma. Every truck has a role... My Tacoma is the best scouting and over landing truck I've ever owned. When I need to tow heavy things long distances I either suck it up and use the Tacoma or I use the Dodge... either way I get about the same mileage too :D.

 SHHHH..... Don't tell anyone lol.

Jamie, babe, our standard SOP at this point is to assume that all threads lead to butthurt.

Frankly, you just lit a beacon on this one.

The thread had nothing to do with dodge or anything like it...
There was one guy that stated wrong info on towing and a ratio of weight of rig to tow.

    He was corrected
I guess if you wanted to be a mod you could have removed those few posts or ask to bring it back on track.
You picked to rename it. Make fun of it and side track the thread.

I don't understand. If a vehicle doesn't suit your needs, don't buy it. If you want a brake controller and the truck for sale doesn't offer one, buy a truck that does from another manufacturer.
OP, why are you so passionate about a brake controller anyway? If it's such a big deal that Toyota doesn't offer one, then talk with your wallet and take your business elsewhere. No one here is going to lose sleep over it and the people on a towing forum will praise you for buying a truck that is better designed & marketed towards towing.

Everyone needs to relax, this is the interwebz.

This is where I have my brake controller. Would you rather have a stiff ass end when not towing, or add airbags and be able to adjust it.

Do you expect your truck to drive the same if you've got 2k lbs in the bed? I mean, seriously, going up a hill you think you can romp it and expect it to just fly like it was empty? How is that any different than towing a trailer? You've just added the equivalent of more than the maximum payload of your truck and you expect it to just be like "eh"? The only solution is to go so overkill that 2k lbs doesn't make a difference (F-350? Ram 3500?)

And I'm a left coast fruit cake now? Just so I understand, I point out an unrealistic expectation on your part and your response is name calling. Gotcha. You're so cool.

I'm not even going to bother trying to explain the difference between the posted speed limit and the maximum safe speed for a given vehicle, mostly because I'm pretty sure it'd be a waste of crayon.
