I did bring it up, they mostly acted like it wasn't there or I would get used to it. I asked if it was adjustable and they said 'well kind of' and changed the subject. I guess I could have been more persistent about it

As for pushing the clutch all the way to the floor, I do it every time. Am I driving it wrong?

    Workin' on it....
That’s the thing — if you are buying a vehicle you gotta have that feeling. I’ve had my truck now for 2 years and I still unapologetically look back at it as I walk away in the parking lot......I love that truck!!!

So where are you now? Why not a MT 6 cylinder? There are still some out there.

if you are not feeling it, take a pass..... dealing with car salemen sucks.... the last 2 vehicles I purchase I did online.... had the price worked out before walking the door, you can do your homework and determine if they are putting you through the wringer...and then when you are comfortable then comes the phone call to the salesman to put down the down payment on CC ($500 in my case)... I have found this to be the solution for the smoothest transaction and not dealing with the bad feeling in your gut..... oh and if you can swing it, sell your car on your own, that is just another avenue for dealers to take advantage of you.... it's all business buying cars, don't let the excitement show......

    Exactly !!!!!!!!!!!!

What's funny is that my goal is to get a new Mustang GT......a car that would certainly have me looking back at as I walked away in parking lots.

My first car was a 1966 Mustang that I bought from summer job $$$$ earnings just prior to my 16th birthday. In college I drove a 1985 model. After college and working a few years I bought a new 1995 GT. All of them were manual transmissions.

I really want a fourth Stang.....but the timing is just not good now. I have a son in college and I needed a truck. I bought the Tacoma due to it's practicality as daily driver...and it's super performance offload for hunting & fishing hobbies.

My son will be done with college in a few years and soon after out on his own. My Tacoma will be 5-6 years old by the time he graduates and probably gets his master's, too.

I'll have my new knees & shoulder by then, too.

Perfect time for me to get the new Mustang GT.....manual transmission. The Tacoma will stay and be a much relied upon fun hobby truck as well as handle much daily driving, too.

The funny part about the current times is that I was surprised at how enthused I've been over my Tacoma. I really am happy with this truck like I've never been with a vehicle....except for the 1966 & 1995 Mustangs. This Tacoma is a solid #3....and #1 among all my 4wd trucks and 4wd SUV's.

It's the vehicle that I look back at. Never saw this coming. Really enthused over this little truck.

It's not so much putting the clutch to the floor, it's the part where you are pulling your leg up as fast as you can ... then griping that it sticks for a split second. Explain why this matters? Especially when you can lift it out an inch or so, do the same thing ... and have it come out as fast as your foot will.

If this were any kind of a performance vehicle, I might have an issue.

We can agree to disagree here. I don't want my clutch pedal sticking to the floor. Didn't happen in my old 92 Toyota pickup at all. Feels like it's not working right.

It matters because it made my experience driving the truck unpleasant.

You are certainly entitled to spend your money as you see fit, but until you offer an explanation as to why this "test" matters ... you really seem to be throwing the baby out with the bath water.

I edited my post. I think that's a perfectly fine explanation, not that I have to explain myself. I think I've done all the explaining I can in this thread.

@Dabitha Nuggsworth Did you answer @Spare Parts as to the outside temperature on the test drive? If this truck was fresh off the car carrier and stored outside on a cold lot the sticking clutch pedal could be normal. When ambient temperatures drop below freezing the clutch tends to be a little sluggish to return. I didn't know it was a problem on 4 cyl 5-Spd, but its well documented on the 3.5 6-Spd. Mine sticks on cold days first thing, but its remedied by pumping the clutch a few times.

It was at least 70 degrees, and the problem persisted for the whole test drive

I have found once you are moving I only push the clutch down about 1/2 way for the smoothest shifting.

More importantly if you did not like the truck don't buy it. When my instrument cluster was being replaced, Toyota paid the rental for three weeks and Enterprise gave me a V6 Nissan Frontier. That truck was a rocket ship compared to my 4cy Tacoma...that being said I could not wait to get my Tacoma back from the dealer and very rarely do I find my truck under powered for my needs. I drive it hard sometimes and other times I drive it like the old man that I am. I bought the Tacoma because we have other vehicles (Ford SUV and BMW 328i) and I only wanted/needed the 4cy. Good luck with your search.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
I knew what I was getting into having previously driven the second slowest vehicle on the Planet but if you want speed....... ya that ain’t gonna happen. Edit: I’ll take GPH over MPG, all day. Aww day!

Dang, sticking to the floor..? My clutch practically ejects my foot off the pedal when I'm re-engaging. Never noticed it sticking before, but I also don't clutch-kick on my drive into work (don't want to spill the coffee..).

I faced the same decision seven years ago. Went in ready to buy a 2.7L 5spd 4wd AC, left empty handed. I liked it but not enough for the $26k price.

The same day I looked at a new Ford Ranger FX4 4.0L 5spd, was $21k. I left to think about it, it sold the next day and I was informed no more were coming. :(

Haha indeed. But it still does truck things. The AT is likely going to be traded in once the full 2018 options open up.
