Looking for a small gun safe to flush mount into wall behind a pic or bed.I've looked on eBay and they go from $30- $500.no clue what's a good brand, whats overpriced, electric or mechanical lock.I already have a 4 ft heady duty safe in basement that weighs 9999999999999lbs but it doesn't help me in case of a dirtbag breaking in my house while i sleep. Any info of links would be great.thanks

Well if someone is trying to break in, and your gun is in the safe behind your bed or a picture, You're already two steps behind the burglar. Just store it somewhere easy to access and high so a 2.5 year old can't reach it. Something counter high is good.

I don't see why the age of your house has anything to do with this matter. :p

We have an home alarm that is wired to every door and window.the alarm is phoneline wired and 3G wireless.our bedrooms are on the 2nd floor so I assume I would have enough time to move my mattress to get into the safe.my wife hates guns as it is so it must be locked up

a guy down the street from me had his pistol in a safe. for the second time in the last few months someone kicked his door in. he had his pistol in a safe and couldnt get it out.....he finally got it out and the robber was deep in the house and was shooting down the hallway at him....his neighbor across the street didnt own any guns and went and bought himself a 12 gauge....

i have a small safe for my pistols i have it turned to the combination all i gotta do is stick the key in it and open it. i leave a single pistol out though no kids in my house.

when i was four..there wasnt a gun in the house i couldnt get to. i found them all. this was back in the day before helmet and seatbelt..(or childseat) laws. the above advice is so off the mark. kids finding handgun = 100% (eventually)..having some idiot break in, and home owner needing handgun..much smaller odds.

i have no kids, and i have guns EVERYWHERE! easy to get to. my friends with kids come to visit, i unload everything and attach those cable locks to everything. no kids is getting killed or hurt with my firearms. no way. i would shoot myself shortly afterwards.

i would buy a small safe that is easy and fast to open. they exist. costly? yes, but kids are precious. i would pay thou$ands willingly to keep them safe.
