I want to get other's input here though.....

Truck for sale is a 2009 Tacoma
    4.0 engine with 4WD
    less than 120k miles
double cab, but can't tell from the photo if it is a long or short bed.
    TRD model.
    Asking price is $10k

Would you sell something well below market for any other reason than it's a problem?

If there are no problems with the truck, it's title or the seller, that's one hell of a deal.

This that and the other thing.
all I can say is I was in the same boat about a year ago, someone was selling a 09 trd sport DCLB for 12k cuz she needed it gone fast. it was mint, drove nice and well looked after. if I was in better financial standings I would have bought it but the bank wanted a ridiculous interest rate haha so you never know man it could be legit haha cant hurt to at least have a look at it.

Is this a Craigslist add? If yes, sounds like scam. Otherwise, super deal.

Probably just under priced for whatever reason, sometimes people aquire things and don't really know what they have. If it was a scam, it would likely be in the $2-5k range.
Just call and talk to them and see if you can check it out. If they ask to send money to hold it or something like that then you'll know.

Can you get the VIN and run it thru the Toyota Owners Website? All dealership maintenance will show up on the site.

Check out the frame thoroughly. Look for any rust or any cracks.

What's the actual price? Is it something specific like $10,485? If so that's a good indicator it's a scam.

What is the worst that could happen? Just make sure to meet in a public place, like a police station if is craigslist. Use your junk email to message.

I'd bet $$ it's salvage title. Still might be worth it, depending on what happened to it and whether or not you plan to ever sell it again.

I never did receive a reply back from the guy. I think it was already sold by the time I contacted them. The ad was placed in Auto Trader, not CL. I was hoping I could get to it fast. The actual asking price was $9900
