    You can definitely do that.
Mines doing great, no complaints; and no, I don’t have uneven tire wear (although the volcanic rock shreds my Kevlars haha)

A friend and I did mines so I would say that quote you received is pretty cheap

I’m also one that’s saying “no” to that kit. Pick a different brand.
I was never a fan of RC lifts, even when I used to off road jeeps. I stayed away from rubbish I knew I’d have to replace.

    Buy once, cry once.

Sweet how many miles do you think you put on it so far? You got the base kit? No vibrations or anything? Did you install it?

I got the base kit as I’m not gonna be off roading but have flexed it out a couple times and it does very good! I probably have 4K miles on it right now. Took it on a 1400 mile road trip and it was great! I paid around $800 to have installed since I don’t do welding lol

Could you post some close ups of the front drop bracket? It had to be welded?

Yeah i have the TRD Off-road, I’ll get a picture when I get a chance! But yes it had to be welded in because it’s removing the factory cross member.

Why are 6 inch lifts not meant for off roading?

Currently have a 3 inch lift plus a 1 inch body lift. No rubbing on my 35s after molding the plastic in the wheel well.

Planning to run 37s toyo MTs. But before i put the 37s i would want to install a 3 inch body lift to my tacoma so it can be a total of a 6 inch lift to clear the 37s when flexing.

Does anyone have a 3 inch suspension with a 3 inch body lift?

Just seems like overkill in my opinion. If you’re going for the mall crawler look then just slap on a 3” spacer lift and run some 34” tires. I like the looks of my pavement princess and the cutting was minimal.

It's not that you can't go off road with a 6" lift, it's just past the point of diminishing returns on these trucks. You'll either lunch through CVs and wheel bearings like no one's business if you try and cheap out, or you'll spending a lot of money for, at best, a tiny performance improvement in very specific situations and worse performance in most situations or straight up worse performance across the board.

There's a reason that the no expenses spared long travel kits from like LSK and Total Chaos only give 4.5 inches of lift, past that the negatives outweigh the positives.

How do the 4 bangers handle these lifts? What kind of mileage vs stock?

That depends more on what size tires you’re putting on it than the lift itself.

I have a V6 manual and going from 265/75r16s to 285/75r16s with a 2.5” lift lost me like 1-2 mpg. The power difference is noticeable but not hugely so(sounds like the auto accentuates it more because it’s geared taller to begin with and bigger tires screw with the calibration). I def need to downshift a gear further than I used to sometimes but that’s about it.

If you’re talking a 6” lift with 35s or something you’ll 100% need to regear, I’d assume even for 33s with the 4 banger.

Thinking about putting some 4.88 gears in my 21 Tacoma TRD sport it has a 6” lift and 35’s. Anyone know how much more fuel economy it gives you? Just wondering..
