    Hello all!

I have an 05, 2.7 base model taco and just have some questions on some possible upgrades I might want to do! Hopefully I can find some answers! I don't have (too much) car knowledge (but more than the average person) so forgive my lack of proper terms or phrases. Screenshot_20211004-100443_Messages.jpg 20210929_135115.jpg

    1) after hitting a deer, I installed steel front and back bumpers, but with my 15" wheels, she looks a little anemic. I have some wheels in mind I want to get, but I'm not sure what kind of tires to get (like size wise) (I'll post the wheels I want)

    2) with the added weight from the bumpers, and the front bumper itself, clearance seems to be a (slight) issue. Lots of dips in every driveway entrance where I live, very hilly city. Would bigger tires fix this, or would I need a lift? I think I want one one anyways....lol

And on the topic of lifts, I've seen references to a 3-2 lift, why have an offset? Why not a 2-2 or a 3-3?

    3) seeing that this is a 2wd 4 banger, all of these potential upgrades are purely aesthetic. I had a friend mention to me that putting on a rear diff lock could give it a little more power, say, on a boat ramp or off road.

Is this something that you can just install, and just "stays on" all the time, or would you have to wire it to a switch that can turn it "on and off"

I know this a lot, but any insight would be appreciated!

    Welcome!
I believe the wheels you're wanting are 6 lug, which wouldn't match with your 5 lug Tacoma.
A suspension upgrade will help with the additional weight you added and you can refer to the first response from ace96.
Having a rear locker would provide a bit more traction, but no more power. It's not something I think you need. And it's also not something you want to leave on as it would lock you rear wheels together.
