    The gears are all the same. If they're swapping the carrier or complete diff then yes the offroad has a different diff and axle and wont fit (but the gears will). also the 4cyl does not have a elocker for 2nd gen.

    I think Christian is right. Only the Off-Road package got the locker. And as someone stated before it's a totally different rear end; it's not just the diff inside the housing.

    and i cant argue with you cause im not sure but i DO know that my buddy has a 09 single cab, 4 cyl. SR5 package and has a rear diff locker! Maybe his truck is the only 4 cyl. in existence that came with a locker from the factory :notsure:
