i have an older warn m8000 model number 25314 mounted on my relentless fab bumper. i dont know exactly how old the winch is i got it used. my solenoids started clicking the other day under a load. im confident the winch motor is good and its only my solenoids going bad. soooo i was looking at contactors instead of the four solenoid set up looks to be fairly simple. i understand the large post on top are f1, f2, armature, and power. the three spade post on the side are for the remote in, ground, and remote out. i was not able to find a diagram or a picture of one specifically for my winch. has anyone done this on an older warn m8000? im questioning were the wires for my controller go on the three spade post.? thank you

You got the right idea! How many wires/posts are on the housing of the winch itself? Make sure you get a contactor that can handle the amp draw of your winch.
Here are the pics/diagrams of the contactor I used on my mile marker 8000.

I have rewired from a solenoid box to the contactor box.
The contactor box is kinda of a sealed unit deal it comes with all new leads already pre-installed.
So it's super easy take the entire solenoid box off.
Enstall the contactor box mount, and install the 3 heavy wires to the motor, f1,f2 ect, the small one to ground, and the hot to the battery.
U will also need a new remote. It is the 5 pin style.

Yours came with all new leads? Which one did you get? What is 5 pin style?

Well I now realize that you guys are talking about converting a solenoid box over to a contactor by adding a contactor to your box.
I bought an entire Warn contactor box & new remote. That's what Warn uses on there new winches.
So yeah I did it the easier but more expensive way. Lol

Took a few pics of the contactor set up. It's way better than solenoids and easier.

The wiring diagram posted is good besides the remote wires winch in and winch out are mixed up. Besides that it's easy f1 f2 armature are all on top of the contactor. Also you have the hot wire from your battery and the power wire from the remote on the same post. It's the middle post on the contactor. Ground the winch itself and ground the controller.
