Expensive for something that should be infrequently used. It’s so much faster and easier to have some one give you a quick tow. Spend the money on a kinetic or tow rope and a couple soft shackels.

That's assuming there is someone there to give you a pull.

Why do you feel this is a Good idea?

Over a wireless or wired winch control .

You need to spool out the cable do the hook up in any case

Do you plan on having parts to repair the compressor or a back up Air source and Air line failures in hand ?

Lets not forget keeping the moisture from freezing if you have below freezing temperatures where you reside or where you might end up.

Electrical components can be field repaired and bypassed to save your butt.

Better then a long walk or waiting to be rescued.

Your Truck Your project if this is your desire go for it.

    Good Luck .

I don't necessarily think that it is a good idea, just an idea. I more or less wanted to know if anyone has tired this on their truck with a warn winch. If it has been done, the reliability of the setup to know if it is worth it or not. With my bumper, winch and light bar setup I think accessing the winch clutch will be cumbersome. so if this was something that has been done in the past reliably I would do it for those reasons. That is if it even technically would work. I have not seen any information on the internet regarding the warn air clutch or even any installs at all. Not to mention with a ARB compressor.

Now that is a good reason to explore that option.

Myself I would modify things to allow easy access to the clutch and stick with electric .

Unless this is going to be a service vehicle with several recoveries a week. Nothing like things seizing up from lack of use .

Do you have experience working with Air systems on vehicles? They can be a royal pain.

Do you have the Kit already ? Will it work for your winch model?

I saw it was discontinued by Warn.

You might want to look into Commercial recovery parts suppliers for more options. As these Air operated Clutches were more for the commercial winches

    Good Luck!
