For obviously defective products, Yes, I would expect a retailer to stand behind the products they sell or try to work with the manufacturer. Even if they don't, I would expect them to at minimum allow my review to post so others understand the lack of warranty. The "we're sorry here's a $10 coupon" was as tone deaf as it gets.

I noticed the issue in October which was right at 11 months from purchase. Zero chance this didn't start occurring earlier than that.

I work in wholesale sales - if you're outside of the warranty date, that's it. End of discussion, especially if you're coming at me aggressively about deserving special treatment. And I wouldn't expect ExtremeTerrain.com to be any different.

Reach out to the manufacturer, that's your only path to any possible resolution here, aside from having someone properly clearcoat the lights with an automotive grade clearcoat safe for clear plastic. Another set of headlights will just peel in 11 months like these did.

This post was intended to warn others since there was no warranty and they don't allow me to post my review. Aggressively? Imagine thinking "special treatment" is to expect a valid warranty or offering a replacement at cost. I guess I should just expect to replace headlights yearly.

Regardless of the outcome, this is the OPs proof to himself that non OEM isn’t the way to go.

I would buy OEM next time around, lesson learned do not buy this product again.

… And no you won’t have to buy new headlights annually if you buy OEM.

After a year even with a 351 day warranty I’d doubt the OEM product would be covered unless you have 350 day camera footage of a vehicle that “Never see’s the sun”…

    Happy Holidays …..

If it’s been over a year, you’re on your own. Wetsand, polish, apply 2K Headlight clear coat and call it a day.

I'm with OP, I'd expect headlights, certainly at the $450 price, to last over a year. Glad he posted his problems here, I won't be doing business with extremeterrain.putzez

As the saying goes. You get what you pay for.
The price the OP paid seems to be less than one OEM headlight lists for. That in itself says something.
If it's cheaper, it could be for a good reason. Not always, but definitely most times.

Thanks for your post. I’m in the market for new headlights and afraid of buying junk. Can you tell us which ones you bought? Link or picture ? Thanks

I had the same headlights. Very cool but yeah they start to peel but Lighting still works fine. I don't consider these as high quality product. Luckily for me I bought these at wholesale price in the first year offered. I have since moved on to morimoto and had them for about 2 years. No peeling of any kind and they have been through 2 brutally hot summers

I have not noticed an effect on output in the past. Its clear so i wouldnt think it would cause a noticeable difference. It can be difficult to work with on compound curves but using soapy water to help apply and a heat gun to help soften it and mould it to the curves makes the difference. Small air bubbles will burp themselves out over the course of a few days, quicker in warm weather or direct sunlight. It lasts for years and you can get it in different thicknesses to protect against rock chips.

Extreme Terrain banged my wife and kicked my dog, didn’t even offer me a discount voucher…definitely won’t be spending money there again

Does anyone on TW work for Extreme Terrain? I understand if you don't want to speak up but message me. I'm looking for a Salesperson who actually drives a Tacoma.

I like the fact they have a catalog. I'm a fan of gear porn. I've gotten lucky with the Open box discount so far.

I do like that you get to talk to a person but that doesn't mean anything when the sales person can't answer any of your questions.

It sounds like they work from home. I had one girl have to stop the conversation to tend to her crying baby.

It appears they work on commission. I've had some pretty desperate sounding sales people text me repeatedly.

Seems like they just don't get a view the products cause there's no Sales floor, Everything is most likely boxed up in warehouses.

But the worst is none of them that I've talked to so far drive a Tacoma!

I wouldn't mind getting a job as a sales person. I'd like to bring some integrity to this sales team. You'd think like a commission sales person that gave people their honest opinion would clean up being the TW hook-up.
