holy shit, I've been real worried about my ball joints lately because I'm getting some clunking noises when turning. Was your's making any noise at all? I imagine it was clunking and popping like a mother...

How did you test this exactly? Jacked up the front end and pulled the wheel toward you? As I understand it, there should be very little side to side play in the wheels when raised off the ground

I raised up mine and couldn't make any side to side movement so I figured I was okay

Also, do you have to replace the whole LCA or can you just get new ball joints?

I am replacing the springs on my coilovers, I noticed it while I was pulling the coilover out, when I turned the wheel around. I was like, WTF!!?? LOL shit man, I can't believe that crap lasted this long. Gonna install one from auto zone/napa while I put the money together for some aftermarket.

You didn't notice any clunking or popping sounds coming from the wheels when you were driving it lately? If it's that bad it seems like it really should have been making some pretty gnarly warning sounds while driving.

    Do you wheel pretty hard?

I got some much shit on my truck that any noise sounds normal to me. I was leaking obviously so I should've put more attention to it.

I hear ya. Sorry for all the questions, my truck has been developing a lot of new clunks and pops lately and I'm trying to feel less paranoid about it lol.

Son of a suck. I am oddly satisfied by watching it go back and forth.

Wheeling hard, for one thing...especially go-fast wheeling over rough terrain.

I know the first gens had issues with bad lower ball joints from the factory but I don't think that carried over into gen 2 at all
