You know it sucks when the only argument is they have onstar... I would however love the 5.3 in my tacoma...

I love GMC full size trucks, as I do Ford & Chevy (same as GMC). But I've always felt they never took the midsize market seriously. Every review I have ever read about the Canyon and Colorado have been horrible...every one of them.

To me, the Tacoma by far leads the mid size market with the Frontier coming in a distant 2nd. Ford Ranger would probably come in 3rd only if they actually sold a crew cab here, which they are back to doing in other countries. Colorado and Canyon's are pieces of shit. Maybe the new generations will be better as many of GM's cars are improving.

as much as they say more available horsepower blah blah blah, my truck w/ full audio system, 265/75 BFG's, passenger and a tool box weighing close to 200lbs, ate a 3.7 I5's lunch over and over and over again. Rolls, Digs, whatever.

Not taking anything away from them, because my friend that had one absolutely beat the living hell out of it and it keeps running, doesn't make me want to ditch my taco tho

funny 3 weeks ago I was helping the guy with one of these. His engine imploded in middle of nowhere. Started smoking. It was brand new GMC too I think 4000 miles or so.
Never mind how I feel about my Tacoma, lets talk about how my Wife feels about my Toyota. As me and the guy was trying to figure out what to do with GMC. His wife was sitting in my truck with my wife and my wife was tellign her how great our truck is, and how she feels sorry for guys wife having to drive GMC. On the end wife of GMC owner said they will try to trade GMC for 2gen Tacoma.:D
    Wifes right?

Pretty sure the tacoma has an oil change reminder. Actually I am sure, because it does...so no GMC you are wrong.

To add: Toyota does not offer courtesy transportation because they don't anticipate a catastrophic engine failure or the like while your driving down the road.

I really want to go off on a tangent concerning the bailout but I'm trying to be more positive these days.

Good ol Government Motors for ya. They forgot to mention "They canyon will only last you about 80-100,000 miles before it blows up on you, unlike the Tacoma which will run for 500,000 miles"

Anybody realized Toyota was the last company to offer things liek complimentary towing doign warranty and things like that. Hence no need to have Onstar. If your vehicle does not brake or atleast is designed to always get you home luxuries like long warranty, ability to call tow truck with push of button or free rental for a month are unnecessary expenses.;)

Listen very closely to the description of the Canyon's suspension. They've developed the first Coil Spring Torsion Bar!

I recently bought a 2012 Tacoma. IMO, the Tacoma doesn't even have competition right now.

Every time I drive someones domestic brand with some miles on it, I am reminded how glad I am that I chose Toyota this time.

Last week, I drove both my parent's Fords. One's a '05 500 with about 100K and the other a 2011 Fiesta. They are well maintained reasonably reliable, but my 07 Tacoma with 70+k feels smooth and tight as brand new, while both the Fords had noticable "old car" type vibrations on the road.

Side Note: And man do I hate that "automatic shifting" 5 speed gearbox or whatever its called in the Fiesta. I love a manual but could not figure out how to properly drive with that automatic shifing going on.

Since when is a torsion bar front end more capable than a coilover setup??

Guess thats why all the LT trucks run torsion bars and not coilovers

    The canyon is a joke...

I thought onstar just expanded so you could put it in any vehicle if you buy the module?
