I just went on Chevy's website and "built my own". The ONLY interesting bit about the Colorado is the 5.3 v8. When configuring a v8 Colorado, there are practically no options unless you want a bed net... No option for leather seats as the video stated. Only 5 exterior colors offered. No 4wd with the v8. What a stupid piece of crap. "Sleek exterior styling"? Yeah, if you're Helen Keller... "Oil life monitor with no comparable option on Tacoma" I know it's really hard to remember to change your oil every 5k miles but even if you are brain dead, we do have a maintenance required light in the cluster. Not to mention, the Colorado and Canyon have been the exact same truck since they first dropped in 2004 while the Tacoma had a facelift for the 2012 model. Slander the Tacoma all you want... I've always been an American fullsize v8 truck owner... until I bought my Tacoma. It's America's best selling mid-size truck for a reason WITHOUT onstar and a 2 position tailgate. Eat my shit Obama Motors!

So just spent some time on KBB. researched both a Taco and canyon. Matched them both up with all the same options and 50,000 miles:

2005 Tacoma with the v6 with trd OR package
2005 Canyon with the i-5 with Z71 suspension package

    Both had these options:

    double cab 4x4 automatic
    Power windows, locks, mirrors
    ABS
    Premium wheels
    Cd
    Ac
    Sliding rear window

    Tacoma value:
    Excellent-24,549
    Very good-23,999
    Good-23,449
    Fair-21,749

    Canyon value:
    Excellent-15,274
    Very good-14,874
    Good-14,599
    Fair-13,524

Leather Seat - you can get klatzkin or clazzio heated.
On Star - you can now buy an onstar rear view mirror for any car and have it installed
Tech Package - If you get a Double Din Pioneer Navi, it has all the bells and whistles than entune.

I've always had toyota trucks and i must say i can't go back. They make a great product. I've been through some S*** with many my trucks and all handle well in and after the fact.

The Nissan Frontier comes close. Its the only other truck that I was considering when I bought my Taco. The main thing that swayed me was the resell value of the Taco VS the Frontier and the fact that there are way more after-market parts for the Taco. Otherwise the Frontier is close competition.

Well and Nissan does not make a standard cab (which is what I really wanted).

Lol, I don't need my truck to tell me to change the oil and they seem to really be stuck on the onstar thing in the video:D

you guys are all missing the point.

This shit comes with factory leather!

When I wear my speedo, I love the feeling of my legs getting atomically fused to the seat. The separation of sweaty thighs from cold leather is the sole reason I will be trading my tacoma for a canyon.

    goodbye, tw.

Canyon's oil change reminder is when the oil pressure light comes on because the oil has leaked out......... again. :D

Not that it really matters but less body roll? Watch the video again. I see much less in the Taco.

    What a joke!

Shows just how desperate GMC is to peddle their shitbox. And how much they realize Tacos are the truck to beat since that's what they're trying (and failing) to compare it to. Canyawn = complete turd. I won't buy any american-made truck after about 1977. Best trucks on the road? Easy--'67-'72 Fords. 40+ years old and they're still running all over hell's half-acre. Best newer trucks? Just as easy--Toyota.

GM can't fix the real problems with they're truck(fuel efficiency and resale) so they slap on a bunch of shit you don't need, make a low-budget video and call it a day.
