Has anyone else got water inside of their license plate lights? Today I noticed my driver side light was brown and about half filled with water. Hopefully the dealer can get a replacement pretty quickly.

I have the same thing. I had a similar problem with my FR-S. I had my tail lights replaced twice because they were full of water. Seems like a typical first year production problem with seals.

yes on mine...i removed the light connector (behind the bumper), and re-attached it again. Seems like the seal on that one is not good. If I notice again, I will ask the dealer to replace.

Already replaced mine within the first week, make sure the tech puts some type of sealant around the plug in, water is running in through that

Just check mine and what do you know! Driver side light is half full with brown water! Adding that to the list to bring up at 5K service.

One of mine has water too. I removed the housing dried it out and after washing the truck with a pressure washer there is water inside again. Not sure if it's the housing or the o-ring seal from
    the lightbulb holder?

Took out the license plate bulb assembly, just press in the tabs on sides from behind bumper and they pop right out. Dried inside of it out with a hairdryer, replaced bulb with a philips LED. Put silicone caulk ($4.50 a tube) around the plug and problem solved. Reassembled and tested by spraying directly on it when hosing the road salt off the truck. Problem solved with no annoying trip to dealer.

Nice job. I'd much rather do this than deal with a dealer over something like this. Plus, I'll be putting in LEDs.

Yep, just noticed the same thing on the passenger side on my 2016, just one month old. This is in Phoenix, not a notably wet place (!), though we have had some weather lately.

Same one here...I just took it to the dealership. They did not had the part available (license tag light housing) and ordered it. I contemplated the silicone treatment (like above).

Mine looked like this, almost half-full of water.

    20160208_120634.resized.jpg

I'm thinking this is not collected rain, but water ingress under pressure, perhaps from a car wash a couple weeks ago.

It was pretty brown... I think not dirt, but corrosion.

The second pic is after I cleaned it up and was letting all dry in the sun for a bit. There is a soft o-ring seal around where the bulb base / connector plug in.

    20160208_123132.resized.jpg

It's back together now and the light still works (tested).

I wouldn't expect much from just replacing the assembly until the part is revised to resist ingress, unless this is one of a bad batch of them out in the wild. A tighter seal doesn't always win because it makes it easier to trap moisture over time and get condensation and corrosion inside.

Also wondering if maybe the ingress was around where the clear and black plastic meet on the bezel/diffuser. If I have to remove it again I'll look at that more closely.

As previously reported, after silicone sealing both the clear lens diffuser to the black housing and also the area where the bulb twists into the housing I still had water come in!!! This is under gentle water hose pressure not even a pressure washer.

So I dried everything out again and additionally sealed the area pictured above where the wiiring harness plugs in. I believe this is where the water is seeping in through the inside of the connector. I don't think the red gasket is doing its job. I'll report back after silicone dries and I test this by putting the whole thing in a cup of water for a few hours.
