    Update bump.

Found this cruising the internet. And this is pulled straight from the Toyota certified 160 pt inspection

    FRAME, STRUCTURE & UNDERBODY
    37 Frame/Unibody check
    38 Inspect body surface
39 Inspect panel alignment and fit
40 Inspect lower body and underbody for damage

41 Inspect steering rack, linkage, bushings,
    control arms and dust boots
42 Inspect transmission case and pan for leaks

    EXTERIOR REPAIRS
153 Body is free of all dents
154 Body is reasonably free of dings
155 Paint is reasonably free of scratches and chips
156 Vehicle is free of improper paint repairs or mismatched color
157 Glass is free of improper repairs
158 Bumpers are free of cuts, gouges and scratches

I think those 3 would play a part in my particular situation.

If you wanna see the full inspection sheet (cause I've always been curious), here's the link.

So for anyone following this thread (if anyone haha), its been a week since my insurance had my truck towed to their inspection site and almost a week since I've heard anything from my claims rep. I've called 3 times and no answer or returned call. Well today I was fu*%ing pissed since I haven't heard anything. Decided to try and get a hold of the claims rep. supervisor(which was successful). Come to find out no one has even looked at my truck to inspect it. Also, it shouldn't be where its currently at. They(insurance) doesn't know why the towing company had it towed there. So that means my truck has been sitting for a week(hopefully with the window rolled up like I asked) with no inspection or decision as to whats going to happen with it. The claims supervisor was nice and actually looked into things for me and said she would have someone sent out there to inspect it tomorrow.

Dude, I'm so pissed about the situation. I just want my truck fixed and back in my driveway.

    ....Stay tuned...

Hopefully its the waiting that's frustrating and it will all come together. The imagination runs wild when you're held over a barrel like that.

Focus on trying to get good customer service out of them and holding them, politely, accountable for their actions.

Your insurance company a big one or one of those bargain deals?
    Makes a world of difference.

I can't wait to see how this turns out. I'm hoping for the best. Also that is some BS that the dealer would not warranty the truck because of a TRD CAI I bought that intake because it was a toyota part and was told it would not void any warranty.

Sorry its been so long. I've been waiting on my insurance to figure out everything.

So, when my truck arrived at Toyota I asked them to look into the possibility of warranty repair seeing as how the fender liner was missing. Service rep said he'd have to get the service manager to make the call on that one(we all know what that means:jerkoff:) but I wasn't too worried since I have full coverage. Well the service rep. called me the next day and told me that he had the quotes ready for the repair and sent them to my insurance company. I asked him if there was any update on the possibility of it being covered under warranty and he said that the service manager said no. They don't see how water got up in there even with the fender liner how it is and that for the water to get in there then the water would have had to have been above the bumper . No surprise there.

Well got a call from the insurance company and they said the estimated repair cost was around $$$12,000:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:.

I almost fell back onto my bed. Turns out toyota doesn't make re-man long blocks so the engine would have to be pieced together with ALL new parts. My insurance says they're not gonna cover it and they wanna total out my truck:(:(:(.

So there's the summary of whats been going on in my life.

Well man that sucks sorry to hear. Just let the insurance company total the truck and be done with. Then you get new truck and life goes on.

bilstein set at 1.75, Racho 5000 rear with 4 leaf kit, floor mats, high lift jack, pull hook in hitch, bed rail corner braces, severe duty brake pads and devil horns on the grill....
once totaled, the truck will NEVER hit scrap yard, it will be bought at auction, a used engine dropped in, salvage title washed in another state, and it will be back on a used car lot in a few months. Everyone wins, except the original truck owner...

I am confused, are they going to pay you for a new truck, and just not going to cover the engine? Or are they not covering any of it because this was not an insurable incident. I presume the 1st based on the fact they asked to total it; but if it is the later you should refuse and go hunt a used engine at a bone yard to drop in there.

They going to total it and pay me out for it. But that money goes to my lean holder since its not paid off. I'm thinking i might press the warranty subject now because they knew my truck was previously damaged before they sold it to me.

Ya that's what I'm thinking. I'm thinking I might have to actually ask to speak with the owner of the dealership since there service manager doesn't get how water can get into the engine.

^ that is total bullshit, anyone looking at the splash guard the way it is can see it will act as a scoop and actually force water into the induction system, press those fuckers till they take the bill.
The only problem I can see is that they may say that you cut the splash guard to have more air getting to the intake since you installed the TRD intake.
In any case, if the truck finally gets totaled remove the TRD intake and sell it, if you leave it in the truck some asshole may steal it in the process.

Good luck to you man I feel for your loss
