Water leak from headliner?

I've been noticing water leaking from the headliner of my 2017 Tacoma with a Double Cab near the back window. I installed a Thule roof rack system when the truck was new and never had a problem. The water leak just started recently. I noticed that the black strip on the roof, where a factor roof rack could be mounted had lifted a little. This also seems to be where the water is coming from. I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed this in their trucks?

The Thule rack system required the weather stripping around the door to be wrapped around the racks clamp. Initially I suspected this as the point of entry for the water, so I added some silicone caulk to fill any potential gaps. I haven't brought it back to the dealer yet. I am afraid that they are going to immediately blame the aftermarket rack, just because Toyota did not make or install it.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

 

Check the third brake light its a known problem the dealer told me there is a TSB for it. There are threads on it.

 

Probably totally unrelated to the rack.

Third brake light housings have been known to leak in these trucks due to decal backing left on third brake light foam gasket. Well known issue. Issue number 234 if not mistaken on third gens (kidding). Take the rack off prior to going to dealer as a precaution.

Thank you! I brought it to the dealer today. They are going to replace the brake light, as you suggested. They're also going to replace the headliner. Parts are on order. I am still waiting to hear from Thule to see if they have any ideas about the door gasket.
