I've had my 3rd Tacoma, 2017 TRD sport access cab for a few months now. Two months back, after a night of rain I found a puddle on the passenger side floor. Then again a couple weeks ago. Any ideas?

Are the windows rolled up fully?

    Is the windshield original?

Did someone ride in the passenger seat with wet boots?

Can you see water on the dash or door cards?

Are the windows rolled up fully? yes. And I have vent visors.

Is the windshield original? It's marked "Toyota" so it must be.

Did someone ride in the passenger seat with wet boots? negative

Can you see water on the dash or door cards? No visible water on the dash. The water is only at the front of the pass side floor, so it must be coming from under the dash.

    What are "door cards"

No roof rack or moon roof. I have not looked at the cabin filter. If it was clogged up how would that cause water ingress?

Door cards, door panels, plastic interior of the door... not likely if the water is "under" the dash.

Did you pull any firewall grommets for wiring?

    Heater core leak?

Did you leave it on in defrost mode ? When you shut off the truck . I found out if you do that it allows for moisture to get in. .

Good suggestion. OP, check the firewall grommets if you haven’t already. Had an S10 back in the day that would end up with a puddle in the passenger floor when it rained. Dealer couldn’t figure it out and it turned out to be a wiring grommet not fully seated. Me and my brother in law actually figured it out after multiple trips to the dealer.

You can get OEM replacement glass. I just had this done on Tuesday. Complete with Toyota label, GoPro mount, and made by Pilkington.

Do you have a sunroof? If so, have you checked the drain holes in a while?

Door seals are crap, I would look there too.

dealer replaced mine on my 18’ while hunting down a wind noise. There is a “improved” one now with a new part number.

Did you pull any firewall grommets for wiring? No but I will take a look at them.

Heater core leak? Clean water. No coolant

Did you leave it on in defrost mode ?
    That's possible

    Do you have a sunroof?
    No

    Clogged AC condensate drain?
Need to find out how to check this

NM I see you said it was after a rain storm . Since it has rained many times w/o a water leak, I'm thinking it may have been a coincidence.

The drain under wiper cowl is most likely plugged. Remove wiper arms, and then cover. This has happened to mine. Debris gets under there and plugs drain. When it's plug water enters cab through filter housing. Replacer cabin filter.

Still not sure how a clogged cabin filter could cause the leak, but I will be replacing it.

It's probably your ac drain is plugged. It's located on the passenger side firewall about two thirds of the way down. It's a 1/2" rubber hose sticking out of the firewall. About 3" long. Hope this helps.
