was washing and preparing to wax last night. Garage door was not working so I waited till the sun wasn't hitting the truck and washed and did used some clay bar with detailing spray. It got dark and the paint starting condensating so I stopped. If I take it for a 7 mile drive to work in the morning would I need to rewash and clay?

No. You do need to wash it again before you wax it.

Yeah. Just not worth all that work and then scratch the paint waxing it. Doesn’t take much dust in the wax to scratch/swirl. Good thinking not clay barring in the sun. I don’t wax in the sun either. You shouldn’t have to clay bar again until your paint starts feeling gritty again after you have waxed. I only clay bar a few times a year. The more you wax, the less you’ll have to clay bar.

Awesome guys. Thanks for the input. Will do another wash later on and then wax. Sucks my garage door is busted.

I would rewash and clay for sure.

But I also wouldn’t wax, especially a white vehicle.

Use a sealer. Looks better and lasts a hell of a lot longer.

I was going to use regular Mothers Synthetic wax. Last time it made the truck nice and shiny and buttery buttery smooth to touch.

Usually when I wax in the morning, I can't ever finish and usually give up. Never understood why
