Weather Guard tool box in black diamond tread. Model number: 644-5-01. The tool box itself will fit a variety of trucks, but I modified it slightly to work with the utility rail in my Tacoma. What that consisted of was drilling two small holes in the back of the box so that bolts could slide through and be secured using thumb wheels. The holes have grommets in them now for the bolts, but could very easily be filled with a plug of some kind (I may have some on hand). The mounting brackets are modified Hi-Lift mounts with two stainless bolts and mounting hardware. You have to have the front rail for this to work. For third-generation Tacomas a rail can be bought for about $40. I used this set-up for a few years through several off-road trips and have not had a single issue; even with quite a bit of gear inside. When closed and locked, the box is essentially locked into the bed. This should fit under all bed covers. I've been running it under a BakFlip cover (also for sale). Toolbox is in great shape and everything functions. Have both keys. I had cut a thick rubber mat for the bottom of the box so that's in there for noise reduction and to protect the finish.

I can meet within reasonable distance. $300

great set up for a toolbox. wish i were closer. how did you rig up the box to the rails? I see you have a couple holes in the back of the box with some grommets or washers? Are the metal brackets attached to the rail custom? cool set up!

The brackets are from 4x innovations and they're actually for a Hi-Lift mount that attaches to the rail. I think I just enlarged one of the holes already on them and then matched it up to the toolbox. The holes in the bracket have bolts and nuts on them. They slide through the back of the toolbox (and the grommets). Then I put those thumb wheels or whatever they're called on the bolts and the box is locked down.

Thanks for the info. Since I cant buy your box I may try and do a setup like yours. Been looking for a box that fits inside the bed rails and your set up is what I need. So did you drill holes in the box and put in grommets? Where did you find the thumbwheel things? Sorry for all the questions, just really like the set up

No worries! I drilled the holes in the back myself. I got the nuts and bolts from McMaster Carr and the thumbwheel deals from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BHNN2MQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

You'll also need to purchase the front rail if you don't already have one.
