I am trying to tune my offroad and camping and currently run these two bins for my kitchen gear and rest of camping gear.

    https://www.amazon.com/DEWALT-DWST3...id=1540622414&sr=8-60&keywords=dewalt+storage

The problem is they are great but very heavy when loaded up for loading and unloading for one person and become somewhat cumbersome. So looking for suggestions or ideas what other do for their setup and suggestions, i am not looking at going out to spend 100+ per bin, but something practical and cost effective would be great, and easy to use, i am not looking at building storage rack system as i do have to use the bed for hauling stuff so looking at something load quick and unload quick.

any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks.

I don’t have one personally but I go camping with people that have them. They seem to be water proof and sturdy.

I have a couple of those cheap yellow top boxes from home depot with a similar recessed lid, and I keep a tarp with me as I don't really like how water can collect on the top of the boxes. If there's a small crack in the lid, it's more likely to leak and if it's a convex shape where water will just roll off (less likely to leak even if there's a small crack).

I really like the Rubbermaid Action Packer boxes.

if you're asking about the Action Packers, depends on which size you get, but you should be able to get 2 side by side in the bed, width-wise, and probably at least 4 total (2x2). There are the smaller ones that fit 3 abreast in racks like the All Pro Pack Rack.

They are stackable, too, but I'd rather try and fit them with 1 layer before having to stack them.

i went out today to sporting and hunting store and saw them in person, and think plano would work best for my setup, though bit smaller than i wanted to but at least will fit all gear into it and have spare bin for usage.

Would the Plano boxes fit under a tonneau cover? Hard to tell from the picture above.

I have this same container and it works seamlessly with the Lund Folding Hitch mount Cargo Carrier, 20" x 60". Only takes up a little more than half of the carrier, so you have room for other equipoment as well. This with a spider type web cover strapped down and your set! Have used it year after year, from Texas to Colorado, Florida, and all over!

I'll put one of those on my RV trailer, but not on the truck I intend to go off-roading with. My departure angle is bad enough with just my stock bumper...

your right about the water sitting on them. If it looks like its going to rain I just throw them under the hammock, tailgate or table. I know they aren't the best but they work and they're dirt cheap.

    those action packers are nice

Plus one for the Plano boxes, I have 4 of them I put on my roof rack. Never had water get in while driving on freeway in heavy rain.

definitely. Action Pakcers are a bit pricey too, which is also why I still use those cheap yellow tops, lol.
