I'm new to TW and the amount of ground clearance available. Do mudflaps ever become an issue for clearance - do they scrape/get damaged when clearance is still possible but extremely close to the limit?

I've had the stiff / molded plastic mud guards like the OEM and Weathertech style get pinched and ripped off. This is why I went with a rubberized floppy flap that does not hang too low. If you don't off road much, drive through deep sand or snow, big potholes, backing over logs or large rocks...then you should be fine with the WTs

I installed the WeatherTech (front only) ones today. They fit and look great!

The Hankook HT 16" tires that came with the truck. I changed the wheels to Tuff wheels. But, my comment was in reference to the look and fit on the trucks without fender flares.
My Tacoma is the SR5 model without fender flares.

Mine too. I put the TRD Pro 17's with BFG KO2 265/70/17, and they rub a little. Not a big deal and certainly not WT's fault.

I installed 4 WeatherTech mudflaps today in about 30 minutes. They fit very well. This will meet my needs as most of the use will be on roads.
This was after 2 failed visits to the dealer to have OEM flaps installed. First visit was "oops, they didn't come in". Second visit was "oops, they don't fit".

I have a trd sport, with the flares.
Weathertech sent a pair of screws for the rear set I have no issue there.

For the Front Pair: They did not send screws, and in speaking with them, they claim I don't need one. I do not have a screw in the upper inside location, should the factory have included a hex screw here? There is a faint red circle on the location in question.

Second question, how tight should the screws be? the screws seemed at the bottom, but I still could turn more, very easily. I don't want to strip the material it is threading into.

Thanks in advance for your comments/advice.

EDIT: To clarify, Weathertech claimed i should have a screw at the location, and they didn't need to send me a screw.

Interesting. They included a pair of screws with my front and rear flaps. They are needed. As far as how tight should they be, you are correct in that you will strip the hole if you keep turning and they turn very easily. I just tightened mine until the flap would not move away from the truck any longer. I have checked them several times and they are staying put.

Could add a little loctite for assurance too

Noooo. Loctite will eat plastic. I got screws with mine for the inside fastener. My fronts also had a fastener behind the flap but Toyota didn't put the female fastener part in the hole in the body. WT sent me those parts. Not sure if the "Flares" version needs that fastener.

The good news is that you can find those screws just about anywhere. I'd guess that I have a few lying around in the bottom of my toolbox.

    1)
110055 - front pair of mudflaps should of included parts kit 48MF552 which is
    (2) #M6.3-1.81x 20mm, 16mm O.D.
    Loose Washer Hex Head Phillips
    Black Finish, Sems Sheet Metal
    Screw
Sorry the CSR doesn't know what they are saying. Most likely new. Send me your info, and the name of the CSR if you have it, and I can then get a parts kit shipped out to you ASAP.

2)As for tightness. The torque spec is really light. Not sure on the exact number but the screws are screwing into plastic grommets. Just snug them up enough so they won't come loose. Too tight and they strip the grommets.

I was just checking out your website and I can't seem to find any other option other than just the rear set, but I'd like to get a front set too. Are you out of stock or am I missing something?

If you're looking for your 07 PreRunner than it doesn't look like they make a front set for it for some reason. They do for the 4x4 version, can't see those being any different and I'd guess they should fit.
